Fibaro Wall Plug as timer for coffe maker

Question

Posted

I have a HC3, and my coffeemaker is connected to a Fibaro Wall Plug.
It started as a means to be able to turn the coffee maker off if I think I forgot to.

Now I want to expand it:
The wall plug is turned on by default, so whenever we switch on the coffee-maker, it will start.
However, if we forget to turn it off, I would like it to shut down after 1,5 - 2 hours.

So my guess is, it would need a scene that checks if power consumption has been over 0,7W (idle state) for >1,5 hours, and then turn the device off.
I see the "Consumption by device"-parameter under energy, but I don't know if this will measure total consumption for a period of time, or if consumption has been over set value for a period of time.

    Update, THIS should work.
I'm learning as I go, and figured I have to put the delayed actions inside the "Set Delay" box.
I've tried with a lamp, will try with the coffeemaker this evening :)

This scene checks the power consumption, if it's more than idle, it will send me a push that the coffeemaker is on.
1.5 hours later it will turn off the wall plug, and push that the coffeemaker is off after 1.5 hours.

Hi Jens, just curious, every time the usage goes above 10 Watt (I think at that time the machines is making some coffee) you want to receive a notification? And after the notification the coffee machine goes off after 1.5 hour, whatever you are doing with it?

That's right - i have set the scene to not be able to restart once it's running, so hopefully i will just get one notification when the coffeemaker is started, and once again after 90 minutes when it shuts off.
The notifications are for testing purpose only, will be removed when I know it's working.

But what if you are making some coffee after 90 minutes?

Maybe make a scene that kills this scene if power consumption drops to 0?
Just to clarify, this is a coffemaker, type moccamaster, that makes one whole pot of coffee at a time. It includes a heater to keep the coffee warm.
It's not a coffe maker that makes one cup at a time ;)

    Hello..

    I like your approach to self-education / self-help.

There is advice from users who expect an immediate solution without involvement from the community, which is not your case.

I tested it last night, my last block scene works as intented.

However, I would like a feature that kills this scene if we remember to turn the coffeemaker off (leaving the state of the wallplug to switched on).
Any ideas how to accomplish this? There's no "stop scene" feature in block scenes as far as I can see.

As an old 4H-er, I live by the mantra "learning by doing" ;)
I adjusted the scene, added the "True for at least"-option.
No need to kill the scene, this works perfect!
