HCL3 QuickApp limit

Recommended Posts

Hi,

HCL3 QuickApp limit 10 is ridiculous. Most non z-wave devices has no direct Fibaro support,

so QuciApp must be implemented. Basically only 10 devices can be used with HCL3.

Z-wave has 40 devices limit, QuickApps should share same limit. At least total 40 devices no matter if z-wave or QuickApp must be allowd.

What error do you get when hitting 10 app ?

I have alot more than 10 apps so never read there was a limit of 10.

What gateway do you have ?

  • You have HC3 not HC3 Lite. In lite 10 quickapp limit, can't add more, says limit reached.

Certified Z-Wave devices should work no matter if template is implemented or not. What devices do you run that you need extra Quick Apps for them?

Also you can change device parameters by "Adding parameters" and set them according to device documentation (parameter number, size in bytes and value). Then if this change of parameters changes how device is reporting then soft-reconfiguration can be applied to read how device is behaving after setting parameters.

  • I use Wifi devices. Like SMA,KACO solar inverters, Samsung bespoke fridge, Atlantic boiler, Shelly Wall Display thermostats,... - all need Quick App.

I try to use z-wave as much as possible, but devices availability is limited. For example Shelly Wall Display, nice device, cheaper then most z-wave thermostats and more possibilities.

I see, I miss this in your 1st post. You have a ton of non-Z-Wave devices.

Then why not to use Home Center 3 instead of Home Center 3 Lite? Home Center 3 Lite is ment for small project with minimal integrations.

Could you combine more than one devices in one quickapp (with childs)? Make one quickapp for all your devices?

    Hi @ivx ,

I think that planning and preparation is necessary before diving into home automation. Selecting proper devices for HA must not be done only by cheaper price. It is so obvious that you need HC3 what @jakub.jezek already mentioned.

Complaining about HC3L limitations here is actually ridiculous since you should do your homework before buying. ;-)

Hope you checked HC3L features here:

    before buying it.
