Motion sensor association

Hi all,

 

I recently got a couple of motion sensors fgms-001(fw 3.4).

 

They work as well as expected however through scripting the response time is not great.

I've set one up to switch on the bathroom light and it takes several seconds(up to 10) before the light is actually switched on.

 

So I'd wanted to associate the sensor with the switch FGS-224 ZW5 to have it switch on faster.

 

I use Zwave JS UI to controle both devices, both are on S0 security and I'm aware I need to wake up the sensor to apply the association.

 

However what ever I try I keep getting an error.

 

I also have an Aetoc wallmote and am able to create the association to the switch and when I press the button the light switches on near instantly.

 

Can someone please help me out?

Check if the assosociation setup works, when the devices are close to each other.

If you want to get light to work directly with motion sensor then just buy a light that has built in motion sensor instead of going through all this fuss. BTW associations between z-wave devices is a relic from the past. If you want real home automation, maybe is time to think about buying really capable gateway that provides means of making some nice automation.

Thanks for both replies, both devices are linked together via Aeotec zwave gen5 stick and zwave js ui in Domoticz.

 

There's automation in place to switch on light on motion and this is working as well as expected.

 

However there's a noticeable delay, 3 to 5 seconds between motion detection and light switching on.

 

Therefore I thought maybe through direct association I could get rid of the delay.

Removed security for both devices and tweaked motion sensor settings a bit and it's now working as expected. Near instant on.
