Set a counter in a variable in HC3 Lite

I am a very beginner and am happily experimenting with my HC3L.

I am trying to set up a scene incorporating a Variable which would count the number of times a light is switched on.

I would then like to expand this to have the variable count the number of people arriving or leaving a site. Add when people arrive and subtract as people leave

I have set up my Variable "Count" and created a scene to switch on the light but cannot get the Variable to change
