FGS 223 Factory Reset does not work

Question

Posted

I have a FGS 223 Switch. The switch was previously connected to a Zipato v1. Now i want to include the switch doe an other ZWave Network. I cannot exclude the FGS fron the prev. Network because the zipato doesn't work anymore. So i have tried to do a factory reset on the FGS 223.

  1. Disconnect the power supply
  2. Remove the device from the wall switch box
  3. Connect the power supply
  4. Locate the B-button on the housing
  5. Press and hold the B-button for 3 seconds
  6. After few seconds the device will be reset

but it didn't work.

i have tried the same procedure with some fgs222 -> everything worked fine.

can anybody tell me what is wrong with my fgs223 ?

@f3thomas

It is true that it has already happened to me at one module, even though it was reset to the factory setting, he retained his association to the previous master. Therefore, each master should start the removal regime first. Start this mode and press 3x B- button on FGS223.

After the completion of this end, it is possible to trigger the addition.

From manual of FGS223:

1. Switch off the mains voltage (disable the fuse).
2. Remove the Switch 2 from the wall switch box.
3. Switch on the mains voltage.
4. Press and hold the B-button to enter the menu.
5. Wait for the visual LED indicator to glow yellow.
6. Quickly release and click the B-button again.
7. After few seconds the device will be restarted, which is signalled with the red LED indicator colour.

I don't get any red flash confirmation after reset and it seems impossible to add it.

Are you guys saying it's impossible to reset if it's associated in previous network?

Using Home Assistant with UZB.me Zwave-stick.

@adluch.

Start the removal function on your HA Stick and press 3x B- button on the FGS223, This should reset the device.

After the removal sequence finished. you should be able to start the inclusion sequence.

It doesn't matter the device was first a member of a different master. exclusion should work with every Z-wave master with the correct frequency.

They're not not included on my controller in the first place so how can I exclude them?

Controller doesn't know where to adress that exclusion, right? Because encryption.

Solved it. For some reason it seems like one unit (Fibaro Binary Senor) on the opposite of the house, far from controller was favorised.

Moving closer to that during exclusion/inclusion solved the issue.

Still I don't know why the zwave-stick didn't manage it. Might be because of some terrible plugs flooding (with no parameters to change).
