Capturing RFiD tag chains in HC3 for Zapito Mini Keypad

Question

I am trying to integrate my 2 Zipato Mini Keypad RFiD units into my Z-Box Hub. I can pair the device, and it shows up as two devices, a binary switch and a door lock. Reviewing the article at SmarterHome (

D chain. How would you go about doing that in HC3? That seems like the first step required prior to generating the lua scripts to set up the lock device to enter RFiD codes.

I have reviewed most of the threads on this forum related to this device, and can't seem to find the answer. Any help appreciated.

User Code CC which is needed to do so is not yet available in Z-Box hub (ZW3.0).
We are working to get it supported but I am not sure if this will work correctly now as Zipato RFID reads the tags in a way which is not specification-compliant from the Z-Wave point of view.

It worked on HC2/HCL because we did there some "hardcoding" and "hacking" to make it usable, we are avoiding doing such hacks for specific devices now, especially for devices that are not very popular.

I know that we were talking about moving those hacks to the new Z-Wave engine, I will consult the team and get back to you if this is actually in the scope now or not.

OK. Thanks for the information. I will retire the Zipato's until they are included.

Z-Box has released firmware 5.162.60 (Beta) and I have updated to it. Per the HC3 release notes, the Zipato keypad is now supported. I have installed one and have user codes and RFiD tags operating as they should. But, I am having troubles with the Binary Switch portion of the device which allows the "beeper" to function on the keypad.

I would like the keypad to only beep when either a user code is entered or RFiD tag is scanned after pressing "AWAY". This does work if I preset the binary switch to "ON" before that action. However, if the binary switch is set to "ON" and the keypad receives the normal periodic "wake up" call from the hub, it also starts the beeper. Is there any way to defeat this other than never having the hub send a periodic wake up call?

Hello, the Zipato works with my HC3l but I don't know how to add a new RFID tag.

    Does anyone know how?

Hi, I also have trouble getting the Zipato Keypad to work on a Homecenter 3. I could add it and also succeeded in adding a pincode and use that in scenes. But I don´t know how to use a RFID tag.

In the console I see this:  [TRACE] [ZWAVE]: ID 166: Unregistered code [143,44,142,7,101,80,1,4,0,0]

But when I use it to set Home or Away the doorlock does not change status in HC3.

Who has it working and can help me in this ?

Hi @rossels  did you succeed in adding a rfid-tag in the meantime?

I see Zipato Keypad is supported in HC3, I have it working for biggest part but can not find anywhere how to add a rfid tag which is very important part of it.

Please inform how to do this, thanks !

So, if you use the not registered tag you will see its code in the system console...
Then use the code below to register tag to specific user:

    Thank you very much!

I don't have experience yet in HC3 with LUA scenes, till now only used block scenes.

Where should I put this lua code, I assume on the right at "actions" and not on the left at "conditions/triggers" ?

After 2 attempts I succeeeded in adding a RFID tag. First I tried with userId = "my firstname"but then I got an error"number expected.

I had to unpair the device, pair it again and userId = 1` and then it worked!

Many thanks for your support !

    Great to hear that.

userId is a slot in the device (number) in which specific pin/tagCode is stored :)
