Roller shutter 4 is not calibrated ?

Question

Posted

Home Center 3 ver 5.160.42

Roller shutter 4 FGR-224

I have tried to calibrate but without success, including manually setting the motor moving time.

The runtime does not match the manually set time.

I have tried downgrading to Home Center 3, uploading the parameters of roller shutter 3 but they both don't yield any results.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue and found a solution?

Thank you!!!

I've successfully calibrated. Also, I noticed that RS4 requires a load to be able to be controlled; otherwise, it will stop immediately after sending the control command for 2 seconds. This is different from RS3, which doesn't care what device is connected; it just opens and closes the output. This could limit the capability of RS4. Am I missing a step in the setup?

    Hi huanauvn,

what do you mean with "requires a load"? I´ve got a window motor connected. Everything works without the FGR-224. However, if I connect it I can do the same as you showed in the picture above. Nothing happens. It just "clicks" twice in about one or two seconds.

I really don´t know what to do.

    Thank you.

I think this is the new mechanism for RS4. You can see the difference in the wiring documentation and the parameters section between RS4 and RS3.
when sending the control command to the load, it must return a certain current data, the RS4 will continue to hold the output, otherwise the output will be cut off immediately.
The RS4 capability now only supports some 3-wire curtain motors. The output hold timer function without calibration is no longer available.
Now, RS4 is still a mystery to me :))))

So in the past with RS3, there was an option to select in the drop down menu that says "Curtain with Built-in Controller". Once this option is selected you can set the number of seconds required to Open/Close. This option is now removed from the RS4 which is considered a downgrade comparing to RS3. We have a number of motors with Built-in controllers which we used to control without issues using the RS3. Not sure what work around we can do to have the RS4 control these motors.

It is very disappointing that the new RS4 has less features than the RS3

Hi, I don't have an RS4, but with hc3 and RS3, when I try to calibrate it from the calibrate button found in the "general" section, it never gives me good results.

I always calibrate them from the advanced parameters. From what I saw in the RS4 it is parameter 150 option 3.

    I hope it helps.

Thank you all for your answers.

The wiring of the RS4 fits my motor requirements.

A few minutes ago I tried a RS3 with my motor. First it did not work as well. Then I changed parameter 155 motor operation detection from 10W to below 7W. It works with 1W up to 6W.

However I still need to calibate it manually by setting the time of movement.

Concerning calibration the manual of RS3 writes on page 10: "If you notice the calibration process fail (e.g. it does not start, movement times are really short or highly inaccurate), adjust parameter 155 value (e.g. reduce it by half). --> Check.

I really do not understand what parameter 155 means. My motor has got 23W. But it works reducing parameter 155. But if somebody can explain it, it will be interessting.

Anyway....as far as I see, RS4 does not have a parameter like 155.

    Any thoughts on that?

Looks like producing RS3 they knowed about this issue, and producing RS4 they forgot about it.

    Thank you.
