FGR223 to light up a lamp

Question

Posted

Hi, I have a spare FGR223, is ok to use it to control a lamp (halogen 75w) ?

It's designed for motors but in the description it's written :

Rated load current:
4.2A for lamps and resistive loads
1.7A for motors with compensated power factor (inductive loads)

Use the devices for what they are designed for!!!

Or, take a little time to read the manual and use common sense to figure it out -

Why not use RollerShutter (RS3) for lighting:

    1) RS has built-in protection for the engine running time (time limited)

This means, unless you plan to shine for a maximum of 900sec (15min), the RS3 cannot be used for light.

    2) The RS3 does not have a light connection anywhere in the manual, therefore it is not possible to install the RS3 "in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations"

    Note: type parameters listed

    Rated load current:

4.2A for lamps and resistive loads,

1.7A for motors with compensated power factor (inductive loads)

.....is due to the definition of the type and size of the load.

However, if you don't mind the above reasons, use RS3 to control anything within the load parameter. You will always turn on the device and automatically turn it off within 900 seconds, or manually turn it off during this time.

However, don't forget that the RS3 monitors the "end positions" given time/consumption, so if you reach the end position "in one direction" (down, for example), it won't allow you to start the same direction again.
