Scene to turn lights on at sunset, and off at midnight, if Implant device has been set

Question

Posted

I have an Implant device connected to my home alarm system. After setting the alarm, which sets the implant device, I'd like to turn light devices on at sunset and turn them off at midnight. Not sure how to do this?

I tried writing a scenario that turns lights on at sunset, and another scenario that turns the lights off at midnight. They work in themselves, but when I run them from a scene activated by the implant device they don't work which is probably not surprising.

Any idea how to make this work?

@Obelix27 Hello.

It is not clear from the description whether the Smart Implant triggers the scene or is a requirement.

When the alarm is set, will the output be switched on permanently, or will the pulse be switched on?

This is a map of what to look at.

If the Smart Implant is to trigger the scene, it must also have a concrete value/values enabled in parameters 40/41.

Alternatively, insert an image of the scene settings, SI,...

The Implant is set to ON by the house alarm system and it remains on until the alarm is turned off.

Implant's parameters 40,41 are "0". I am not sure what these do.

The forum wont let me attach images for the some reason.  But there are two parts to it:

    1) a scene that when the implant is set to ON then it executes a "Lights on at sunset" scenario.

    2) The "Lights on at sunset" scenario simple turns on various switches at sunset.

So it's pretty simple. The problem seems to be running the "Lights on at Sunset" Scenario. If I program it simply to turn on the light device then it works, but I want the lights to go at sunset and I am not sure how to do that.

If you turn on the alarm AFTER sunset, do you still expect the lights to go on?

(Because the scenario gets the lights to go on only AT sunset)

I don't mind. Most important thing is that if I turn the alarm on in the afternoon that the lights go on at sunset. I'm also happy for the lights to be turned on if I turn the alarm on after sunset but that's not a big deal either way.

You could make a blockscene that sets a global variable to a certain value if the alarm is set. (And another blockascene that does counterwise, if the alarm is set off)

And another blockscene that triggers by sunset and the certain value in the global variable. (And another blockscene that turns you lights off)

(And pray the burglars don’t see that the lights are always on when you are not home, hahaa)

Ok got it - it really is simple!

There's no need for a global variable since the Implant device is already effectively just that.

The bit I was missing was that you can set Time conditions in the Block Scene. There's a "Time" menu on the RHS.

Thanks for your help, it steered me in the right direction.
