Update to 4.10 failing

Question

Posted

All of my many Heat Controllers show the update 4.10 available in HomeCenter 3.
I was able to successfully update 3 Heat Controllers.
All others directly "fail" after initiating the update. In fact, that´s most of my Heat Controllers failing.

It´s not a state of charge issue as they are almost full and I was able to update devices with lower states of charge.

An ideas?

@Emperyan @awlieser

I've just updatet the Firmware of a Fibaro Door Sensor. Previously it failed to do the update multiple times. I had to exclude it from the hc and include it without security. I've also moved the sensor close to the hc.

Then the update went trough. And after another exclude/include it showed the new firmware release.

Maybe you can try the same?

I have tried 8 deivces. 6 succeded 2 failed. Those two never worked. Tried many times. Distance from HC3 2m, battery on 100%.

@m.roszak Michael can you please check this issue? I have opened a ticket, but they ask me to send the device to Poland, what i am not gonna do. This is obviously not a device fault. I have tried with multiple brand new devices, and still the same.

Thanks for the response. Yesterday i managed to update the last one. After like 10 attempt. First 2-3 attempts it doesnt even started to upgrade, it showd Failed immediatelly. Then the next 7-8 attepmts it got to 80-90% then it failed. And on the 10th attempt it got upgraded.

So at this moment i have all them upgraded. I will close the ticket, but anyway i think there must be something faulty.

Do you need the response anyway, or now it is in vain.?

I tried several times with each device, but most are simply refusing to update.

Not that it won't give us much, the only thing that comes to my mind is that I already forwarded it to the team.
You can send me the logsDump so I will check if my thinking is sound :)

Same problem (bot possible to upgrade firmware) but on earlier stage: "Error while downloading the file" on all devices. Anybody had the same and solved?

    Anybody from Fibaro can help?

There is definitelly something buggy with this, but charge the device up to 100% than bring it manually close to HC3. (like 2m max). Dont use queued update.

That worked for me. Not for the first run but for the 10th i think. Or wait while fibaro issues some hotfix for this.

Still no fix on this, i managed to update 4 heat controllers but the last 2 fail immediately. I also have 18 door and window sensors that update to 3.3 but after each update still shows at being on 3.2 and 3.3 available to update

I have the same problem, not being able to upgrade Heat Controllers and Window Sensors. They either fail immediately or after several %. Tried like a dozen times, always a failure.

I‘ve given up on this „update“ - tried many times and always get „Failed“ after a few seconds ☹️

I'm also struggling a lot, like everytime, as I think there is lack of explanation for the errors.

But, one thing that did fixed the heaters update. 2 were updated and 4 were failing. But then I checked that the battery was probably less than 50%. It was not red but not full.

After charging them, the update immediately worked.

For those who had issue with windows/door sensor, it was also failing randomly, but mostly my issue was half of them not reporting the proper version.

After a few days and a console restart, I waked up the device and try an update. Some updated again and failed, but then had to good version, some failed immediately and then showed the good version.

I was now able to update all Heat Controllers after meticulously charging every one to 100% directly before the update attempt.

Admins - Any update on this? I've just updated the HC3 to the latest firmware in the hope this would fix the issue but sadly not.
