QuickApps look and feel (disappointing)

Dear Fibaro,

 

I'm getting tired of Fibaro constantly changing how QA are shown on either web GUI and mobile apps.

 

One example of Sonos API Player with new mobile view turned off or on:

As you can see on above picture, I have no clue from where it reads 19.5°C, 85% humidity and 1 km/h wind speed? I guess it was wrong for me to make it as a weather provider, even it was working on previous software version except of course for weather condition which is not available.

 

BTW - I do not expect any answers to my questions in this post anymore. Anyway there is no time to loose on us loosers that still live in hope that anything with Fibaro will be better, same as there is never time to write a piece of instructions for all advanced features built in this beautiful software of yours.

Bro this issue is lingering here like 5 years or more..We several times asked Fibaro to provide more options for QA formatting. More QA controls..More freedom..So we can ease our own and their life too, because we put our times and effort to create reusable QAs for end users, so eventually Fibaro will be more competitive..But these words were not heard so far..

Create a complex QA from a unformattable LABEL and BUTTON control?? ..There is nothing left just use the old version so we can hack some CCS and HTML formatting into the code, so users can have better experience from using QAs.

I suggested many many times to give us more options. At some poiint i got a promise, that there will come some changes...

I suggested carousel controls for temp selection,

date time picker , for date and time selection

 

or simple selector for any values, as there is no other input control for users just the slider (that is unusable), or the new multiselect (where in mutli mode it doesnt work)

 

formattable buttons and labels.

 

 

Freely positionable controls vertically and horizontally...Resizable, colorable buttons.

 

Change text formatting on all controls..like colors, positions etc

 

Controls for media, or simly for cursor handling, like up an down, plus minus

 

 

Icon and image support

 

Full formattable table support

 

And a better and well working slider..thicker to help user to hit it...

 

Not so big requests i think..

 

 

 

 

Givine usres a possibility to increase/decrease some value makes me sick..it needs hundreds of codes,,,and looks ugly with those little buttons

I feel with you Zoran. 

 

We spend a lot of time creating nice (Nice) stuff. With the lower case is ok, because it a like a hobby, so it is allowed to spend the time.

But we could be far more effective if there was more up-to-date documentation, other than searching the forum, hoping it is written somewhere, because someone stumbled upon. And we probably are losers. At least, the whole HASS community thinks we are. But hey, we made a choice and we stick on it! We will survive! 😉

Big truth! But when I look at the Nice portfolio and what they are offering and Fibaro is now theirs I'm not surprised that they actually do not need Quick Apps and nothing smarter than remote controls and push buttons

Why some of the QA types now have additional information about device icon?

Here is that additional part:

This is checked for weather provider, but also some other types has the same part added.

At the same time my QA of the above type has different icon set by the code:

But QA is showing rain.png instead of my User1049.png.

 

Same is also for QA of type "com.fibaro.Player".

Before firmware version 5.160.42 I know that this was not a problem and all my Sonos API Players were able to show icon that corresponds to the player current status.

 

Is there a way to change icon of the QA as before?

Currently even if "deviceIcon" is set to some icon ID it will not appear on web GUI or Yubii Home app until QA is restarted.

 

You really make QuickApps less and less readable, specially in Yubi Home app. First additional "log" field is not shown and now user icons can't be changed on many types of the QuickApps.

Is there in your team anybody who really understands UX, UI and GUI development? Seems not, which is very sad.

 

Another example is of this so called NEW QA view, where label text can't be formatted anymore and as it is too small it is not usable for older people who actually need home automation. Not to mention that color of the font and color of background make labels even less readable.

Also, suddenly label text is left aligned, while before was centered on the QA. Why is that changed?

I have read it somewhere, Fibaro was working on the documentation. Most of the time that is a “closing item”, so probably they stopped somewhere.
