iOS 18 Widgets & Shortcuts Support

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Any acknowledgement from a Fibaro official would be helpful, as now there is no way to run scenes without opening the app, the shortcuts app doesn't show the app anymore and there are no new widgets since the removal of legacy ones from iOS 18.

I don't understand why there are always problems with shortcuts. It's too bad for a system like this that it's so problematic. After all, they are products purchased for comfort. But the practice does nothing but make people nervous.

Yeah I need to have the widgets back ASAP!!

This is unacceptable to leave such a function out in a new iOS release.
It’s not like they can’t prepare for such a release.

Come on Fibaro. It’s been weeks and the system is unusable for lots of people. Some timeline on when you fix this?

Any update on this, Fibaro? I also would like to have this functionality back.

Is the Fibaro system outdated and irrelevant? It might be time to explore other systems that are more modern and customer-focused.

Hello, I check every day for updates. This situation has ruined the user experience. All applications have received dozens of updates during this period, but there is no development in Fibaro. This is a very sad situation for such a company. It is not easy to spend money on such systems in Turkey. It is not easy to change the system we have established. If I had the chance, I would want to sell them all and switch to another system. This indifference is very bad.

Since there is no update from Fibaro, what I would recommend is to install Home Assistant in a raspberry pi and link fibaro to it, then you can have all of the scenes in homeassitant widgets. Not really doable if you have a lot of clients but there's nothing else, until fibaro decides to release an update decades later.

@A.Socha how about some input from Fibaro?

Hello, thank you for your answer. I am just a home user and I am interested in these topics. I also researched last week. I watched a few videos. Is Rapberry Pi 5 4gb enough for this job? Does Fibaro allow connecting to Home Assistant? Is it safe?

    1. Yes, even a raspberry pi 4 is enough.

    2. It is self hosted so it is completely safe, home assistant has been in development for many years and there's a lot of integrations other than fibaro's.

One comment - Home Assistant requires a monthly payment for remote access to the system. If You are operating within Your wifi range, all seems to be fine. But in case of remote access, there is necesary to pay monthly fee.

You can access it via dynamicDNS (duckDNS) and SSL certificates for free

Or if you can host your own VPN server at home then you can also have remote access. That’s how I do it.

It’s because I have so much automation running in Fibaro that I haven’t fully switched to HA yet, but the time is coming closer and closer with these kind of problems with Fibaro/Nice.

It’s been months now. I’m moving on and buying another system. Totally worthless that Fibaro stays silent. Might keep the modules and switch to homey pro as center. Or buy a totally different system and sell off all the hardware

Build your own based in Home Assistant, Homey isn’t any better even worse than Fibaro.

I'd go for Shelly if you're going to change the modules.
