Hiya Community - looking for some guidance on setting up the energy dashboard.

I have a HC3 with the latest GA release installed, but i cant seem to get some of the features to work on the energy dashboard. I have a few smart sockets which capture energy usage, also all my light switches, and then a main Aeon Labs home energy meter. I took some screen shots in case i'm missing something obvious, but hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've tried following the guides and looked for some other threads, but still none the wiser!

@SmartHomeEddy - you're normally pretty good with these things! ;) Any guidance?

That Aeon Labs home energy meter, does it only measure kWh consumption? You don’t have production? It doesn’t measure power (Watt)?

    Thanks @SmartHomeEddy

it seems like it will measure Watts but, I may have to configure it to do that if I look at the documentation

    .

i don’t have any production, so it’s all consumption that I’m trying to track.

i also have Fibaro Switches behind every light in the house measuring power, plus a few smart plugs which are also measuring consumption. For the fridge, TV, and dishwasher etc.. so I have lots of individual devices tracking power which I think the energy dashboard can use too.

I don’t mind looking at buying a different energy meter too, if there is one that works better?

@SmartHomeEddy - Are you able to help, or could you link someone who you think could help?

I'm really keen to use the Energy Dashboard, and dont mind buying something to do it

In you measure energy (kWh) and power (Watt) for your whole house, you can use those values (and no other values) for your energy panel. It is actually as simpel as that. kWh in energy consumption and Watt in power consumption.

    @SmartHomeEddy then i'm not sure why the energy dashboard is not populating the information, as you can see below;

    Any ideas?

Can you show the energy settings of the energy and power devices?

@SmartHomeEddy - Here are the settings for the main energy meter that i have selected in the Energy Panel Settings. Hopefully you're able to see the screenshots i'm attaching?

@SmartHomeEddy - i have lots of Power Sockets around which also report engergy, which you can see showing up in the right hand side of the dashboard under devices. Here are the other screenshots i'd attached to the original post too

this is the power device, do you have an energy device?

:) @SmartHomeEddy I think you're onto something! I assumed the Aeon Labs home energy meter measured Power and Energy - However, if i look at the screenshot - there are not Power KWh recordings. What am i doing wrong then? Do i need configure the Aeon Labs thing to measure both, if possible, or do i need another device to measure Power?

The energy panel will show the energy devices (kWh). So you need an energy child device from the Aeon Labs device. I am not familiar with that device.

@SmartHomeEddy Understood, i think that is the problem i have. Before i go a burn time trying to fix the configuration of the HEM, do you recommend another device for Power and Energy that works well with HC3?

You have an Energymeter, so it should report kWh. The user guide also states it reports kWh, so someting is wrong in your configuration (or you just haven’t found the right child device).
