TKB TZ36D double switch inclusion issues

Question

Posted

On my HC3 5.160.42 a TKB TZ36D double switch only shows as one device when registered.    It's a double wall paddle switch, L/H side has a relay output and R/H is just for signalling, however after inclusion only the L/H is showing as an on/off switch.   It has been factory reset beforehand.  Anyone got a fix for this one?

By looking at the device specification here:

It has only one controllable output (does not support multichannel command class) and only one channel is introduced over the protocol. The second paddle is available only for controlling other devices via associations.
I am not sure how correct is the definition on Z-Wave Alliance but looks like everything works as supposed.

@m.roszak  Indeed, but how do I utilise the second paddle if it doesn't show up anywhere in my HC3?

    Hi @teeften,

In devices associations settings you should see a few Association groups in Endpoint 0. One of them should be 2nd paddle (check devices documentation which one), so you can then direct control different device that is its neighbour, e.g. different light, without need of making a scene.

Thanks for the heads up @jakub.jezek   I have found the R/H paddle is listed in the manual as Group 1-

So I then in my HC3 I select a Target device in Group 1 see below: (121 is a relay switch)

But when R/H switch is activated nothing happens, the devices are 4m apart, what am I doing wrong?

@teeften, As Group 1 shows Lifeline, then that looks like connection to Home Center. I would try to integrate into Home Center and your Relay switch in Association group 1. If that does not work, try to put relay in number 3. If that does not work, then I think your relay may not be  a direct radio neighbour, meaning directly visible by switch, or those associations just do not work.

This is the relay switch associations tab below, how do I associate with Group 1?  Everything is greyed.
