Fibaro Devices

Question

Posted

Hi,

I have numerous devices FGS-221, FGD-211 and RGBW all of which I purchased probably 9 years ago. I had them installed with my HC2 working fine. I have had them stored in a sealed box for the past few years and recently got them out to install at my new house with my home assistant system using aeotec zwave device. (I no longer have the HC2). Now I can only pair 2 out of about 12 of my devices. All the others I get no response. I’ve tried to exclude, reset, include with no luck. It’s very frustrating as I have so many devices just useless. Are they dead, or can someone suggest a way of getting them alive?

thanks!

@Peter13

Hi. I understand that the devices were functional for several years, then dismantled, stored for several years, and now you want to use them, but they do not work?

I personally estimate it to be dry capacitors in the source part of the device. In this case, only service can help. It is questionable whether it is even worth sending it somewhere, given the price and the consumer type of device.

After nine years, I would probably accept the fact that the devices have worked their way up and I would wish him "light silicon heaven".

Hi,

Are you sure that you have successfully excluded the device(s)? (ie using the exclusion process of the controller)

I don’t know why but resetting is sometime not sufficient.
I have experimented this some time ago with a refurbished RGBW module.

Good luck!

    Thanks for the replies.

    i have tried everything to exclude, reset etc but to no avail. Would I need to exclude in a HC2?

    @Peter13 Of course, there is a possibility that the exclusion process on HASS is not working properly. Then any other Z-Wave gateway can help. It doesn't have to be HC2 (which you don't have anymore).

    You can test the principle of exclusion from HASS with one of the functional modules. If it works, you can be sure that those 10pcs have gone to silicon heaven, where all calculators go when they reach the end of their service life.
