SingleSwitch2: Double/triple presses trigger scene events AND wrongly change the state of the connected light

Question

Posted

Hi,

I recently replaced my old SingleSwitches with the newer version (SingleSwitch2). My main motivation was to use the functionality to trigger scenes with double/triple clicks, which used to work for roller shutters and dimmers quite smoothly already. However, while setting up this feature on the SingleSwitch2, I noticed, that every click changes the state of the connected light as well: when double pressing, the scene is triggered AND the light is switched on/off. From my perspective this makes the scene activation feature completly useless and is also different to rollor shutter and dimmer modules, which only trigger the scene but do not change the state of the connected light or roller shutter (just tested this once more to be sure). So, how can this behaviour be changed for the SingleSwitch2 modules? Is this a firmware issue or do I miss a setting here?

Thanks and best regards,

Ronald

@ronaldQ

You can't decouple the output from the input with singleSwitch2. You either start scenes or switch a load connected to the output.

    But why? Works for Dimmer, works for Rollor Shutters - why not here??? What is the point in mounting a wallplug for just controlling scenes? The use case is extremely limited and I would rather go for a (battery powered) Multiswitch, which I can mount anywhere I want...

    @ronaldQ I agree, but the singleSwitch2, is an older device.

    For scene activation I recommend the walli controller

    .

    It has a battery mode

    if used with a power supply, is the best zwave repaeter I've testet so far

    it can be a status display with the LED upper an lower color ring and with separate indications, I'm using it to indicate the current temp of my water boiler

    It has a reasonable price tag

    Thanks for the hint. However, I still don't understand why the newest Fibaro modules are not able to do what for instance the ~10 year old Roller Shutter 2 module was/is able to to?
