I am using a QA to interface my Nest Learning Thermostat. [For the sake of this post, I am using Fahrenheit units]. My child device for the thermostat displays the new UI panel for the device just fine. However, when the thermostat is in Auto mode, I only see one temperature setpoint. The climate panel still has two setpoints, one for heating and one for cooling (but for how much longer?). The value displayed is the average of the heating SP and cooling SP. For myself, and probably the average user, this is very misleading. If my two SPs are 68 & 72, the average is 70. However, the hvac system will never reach that average because the hvac system will shutdown when the respective SP is reached. Even more confusing, if I use the climate panel I can change the SPs during the day. So if, while the house is empty, I change the SPs to 60 & 80 respectively, the UI panel will still show an average temperature of 70. So I believe that the confusion may arise when the user looks at the UI panel and sees the SP at 70, but the temperature is hovering around 60 making him/her wonder why the heat hasn't turned on.

Another question that arises is the new properties, interfaces, and actions in the device structure. These new items add better functionality but their implementation seems to be lacking (or I haven't figured out how to trick the system into using them). Is there any idea when these might be functional? Would there happen to be any documentation available as to how to use them? Fibaro is not known for producing any meaningful documentation so I'm not holding my breath.

Thank you.

Peter
