HCL is dead after a low battery, how to get it alive?

Question

Posted

I have installed a HCL as a slave, next to my HC2 which is my master.

I had some issues because it seemed like the HCL wasn't working anymore.

I went direct to the IP of my HCL. In a glance I saw something like attached. I clicked on something, I believe the first option, but no idea what happened afterwards as I cannot access it anymore from the IP address.

It has to do something with the battery of my HCL. I have replaced it, but after this I can still not access. The blue lights go from the outer side to the middle. Something I can read at the forum as well.

I believe I need to flash the HCL. But how do I do this to get it alive? Is there a possibility the settings are still there? Is there a more simple way to get it alive?

Any help is really appreciated as I really need my slave HCL...

Thanks in advance.

One small tip from me...Have you tried accessing it from the recovery IP address of 192.168.81.1?

Unfortunately this doesn't work... I will try tomorrow again by connecting it directly to my Mac network adapter.

My LAN is 192.168.3.x... should I try to put my LAN onto 192.168.81.x (that's a bit of a risk if I cannot approach it anymore and also many devices have fixed IP addresses)

You can do it with no risk. If set your Mac on 19.168.81.x you can connect with HCL change IP of HCL and revert your Mac back to original IP

    Should do the trick

I understand... I will try it next time in Austria, just flew back... do I need a patch cable for it or can I just use regular ethernet cable? I think the latter, as I have done such a thing before...

Once I'm able to access, what to do? Do I need to flash again or would you expect the internal website will guide me further?

In HCL change IP in the range of your router.

It's  a long time ago I did it a cat 5 cable will do.

Don't need to flash if you do the connection and change the IP you can after Macbook switching back to normal IP connect to HCL as you did before

I have set my Apple network to 192.168.81.100, connected the LAN adapter with the HCL. But trying to open the web page at 192.168.81.1 doesn't show anything...

The LED's are flashing slowly from outside to inside and vice versa...

I have tried to turn it off and on. The the LED's are going from left to right. I have tried to click on + for 10 seconds, nothing happens...

How to get access to the HCL...?

Have you tried to use Fibaro Finder? Maybe the HCL is on a different IP …

See in your router or modem if HC is listed if not he is't connect
