Info about DS18B20 sensors with FIBARO Smart Implant

Question

Posted

Good Morning,

I would like to build a multi-zone temperature reader, using two DS18B20 sensor and one Smart Implant module.

I read on instructions that multiple DS18B20 are usable on Smart Implant by connecting them in parallel, but I have a question:

- on the gateway will I have 2 different temperaure readings from the 2 sensors or only one temperature value (maybe a "median" value of the readings of the 2 sensors)?

Thank you very much

@s_pnz You connect up to 6 DS18B20 Temp Sensors to one Smart implant. Each sensor will show its momentary temperature. No median value.

I recommend to use:

Powersupply 12 Volt 2 Amp

The cable for each sensor not longer than 3 meters

Make sure all sensors are connected correctly before you include the smart implant to the yubi home controller. If you make any changes on the wiring, you have exclude / include the smart implant again.

For each temp sensor you will see a chart like below.

be aware of this issue:

I stopped ultilize implant with DS18B20, Every power failure resets all temp sensors to zero
