How to group and synchronize two Walli switches?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So here is my situation:

I had a light installation using three switches to turn on a single light using a teleswitch.

I removed one of those switches and replaced the other two with wall switches.

First problem: in order to turn the light on/off, I had to click twice on the same switch, and if I clicked on the other one, it was complicated to make it work again. Surely because of the teleswitch, it is still installed.

But the teleswitch doesn't work anymore, so I'm thinking of removing it and want to control the light with only one wall switch and synchronize its status to the other one so the other one could communicate with the first one to control the light.

It looks like I should group switch 1 and 2, but I don't find how to do that. Is it even possible?

Or should I install a single switch controller to replace the teleswitch so both walli switches will control it as they will be on the same circuit?

The thing then is how to change the wall switch to a "click" mode so the wall switch doesn't manage the on/off but just a pulse to control the single switch.

Hello,

there is a misunderstanding very probably from your side about Fibaro Switch Walli - this device has two relays already, so you dont need any other relay device(s).

One Walli switch device (call it for example master) must be in the "first" electrical box, where is the cable from the light (bulb), because the relay will turnon/off the light, the others should be Walli switches or Walli controllers, and you set the asociation in Fibaro (or you can control it by scene...)

    Thanks for your reply.

I also thought about your solution, but I'm completly lost in HC3 to set the groups (master/slave) and to controle a divice with another one.

For example, I know you can set an action for one clic, two clic and three click on the switch, but have no idea how to set those, and I can't find any tutorial.

Can you help me with this?

Hello, if you are lost in this topic, it will be better to ask some installation company to set your Fibaro smart home, I think...

About one, two, three clicks - you have to firts enable this function in parameters of the Walli device - there is a tab with paramteres, in device detail and Parameters 40 and 41 are for sending more click to run scene.

Then you have to create scene and use the key pressed key like trigger.

You can find all needed about whole FIBARO in this forum, try to searching...

Indeed I have found those settings but can't figure out where to set the id next. Is it here or in the scene editor?

You can use the block scenes and add the device on the conditions side and choose like this (not a walli, but should be the same)(it might be on a remote part of the device and not the light)

    red= remote

    blue = light

But you could also use assosications, but it is a bit more complicated, but here is the manual/documentation:

So I finally be able to check but I don't have the "push the button" option in the scenarios, just state (on/off), power use and power.

So I can set the trigger on 3 click as in your example.

the remote part that i circled with red might be hidden 🤔
if you go in the "webview/browser" you can go to settings --> devices --> go to filter and show hidden (upper right corner)--> find the relay device and see if you find the group or parent device your relay and remote are toghter

This is a "group/parent"  (but from an heatit zm dimmer)

Here you can unhide it:  remember to save after unchecking !!!

That was not the problem but found the way to get to scenario editor as you.

In the device list I had to select the main switch (not channel 1 or 2) and the click on the "+" icon in the advance tools, but I couldn't make my goal work as it is not the way, I think.

There is the pulse mode in parameter 150/151 but it not really a pulse mode as it automatically turn of after x seconds (defined in option 154/155).

I was hoping to made my system work with the pulse but it looks like it is not possible.

I have two switches connected to a teleswitch that manage the light, and to work the switches just need to send a pulse. It doesn't need to know if it is on or off.
The on/off if managed by the teleswitch.

So I was jopping to make this work by turning on the pulse mode on the fibaro switches but ir looks it doesn't work that way, or I'm missing something.

    Do you have a clue?

So the telerupteur is also installed with the fibaro switch?

The fibaro switch can be used instead of the telerupteur(impulse relay i think this is?)

the telerupteur is in the main electrical panel but I cas I can overwrit it if necessay to link the fibaro switches to the light, but again, how to controle one light with two fibaro switches at the same time to everytime I turn on on one, I can turn on off on the other one.

Write know, I have to click two times on one switch to turn on/off the light and then I can't control the light with the other one but eventually can and the it is hard to get the control from the first switch.
