HC3 crashes every 30-90 minutes, reboots automatically but stuck

Hello everyone,
I bought a used HC3 3 days ago to replace my vera edge which I had for 4 years and found very slow to respond to any actuation.
HC3 specs looks very exciting compared to my old controller and after adding a few devices and creating a few scenes I could only acknowledge how faster it is.
However I have a BIG problem with my device : every 30 to 90 minutes it seems to crash: it stops responding, no scene or actuators triggers any reaction, the web ui is not accessible and the controller does not even respond to ping.
After a few minutes in this state, the device seems to reboot automatically based on how the leds on the front look like: it changes from the 5 leds on the right on, to a sequence of leds from right to left with one led after the other remaining solid lit. But the last led on the left never stops to blink, the device never answers ping requests and the web ui is never reachable.
The only way to get out of this state is to unplug the power adapter from the socket for a few seconds and plug it back.
This is driving me crazy as I have bought the HC3 for its responsiveness but if it doesn't work more than an hour in a row, it is useless to me.
Has anyone face a similar issue or would be able to advise on troubleshooting / repairing steps ?
I have create a ticked on fibaro support (#349207) for a few days but haven't been contacted nor have not receive any answer to it.

Thanks in advance for any piece of advice.

PS:You can see on the attached video which I started when the device started to stop respond to ping requests and web ui was not working, from time 0:30 the device seems to reboot but never makes it through until the end of the video-

The HC3 is very powerful and what you have described is definately not normal operation.

It's possible that you bought a defective unit (I hope the seller was not this unscrupulous though), or did the crashing only start after you started loading up the box?

Can you check your CPU and memory utilization?  A problem may be caused by bad LUA code in your scenes (happened to me once).  I'd suggest turning off all scenes and seeing if this solves the issue.  Then turn them back on one by one to find the problem scene.

If this doesn't work, try a factory reset, and set up the box with very limited functionality.  Then let it sit for a few days.  This will tell you if the hardware is ok.

    Thanks Tim__ for your answer,
Since I started immediately to add devices, it is a bit hard for me to tell if the HC3 sitting empty would also crash.

    I have 19 Z-waves devices, 1 IP camera and 17 scenes.

I tried to switch between system A and B, updated to latest firmware (beta) still the same behaviour.
What is very weird, is on top of the crashing that it never makes it on its own to reboot: even when I select to switch to recovery mode, it reboots and get stuck and I have to physically remove the power and put it back.

I managed to catch CPU and RAM utilisation during two crashes: in one case CPU utilisation of 1 core suddenly was 100% due to access tot the video feed of the IP camera (see attached video), on the other occurence 2 cores went to 100% for no obvious reason (see attached screenshot).

I have only scenes that I created with the block editor (the IF (AND/OR) THEN (AND)),  no LUA code, but I'll try to disable them all and see if any change occurs.
And I'll try the factory reset as you suggested if this doesn't help.
    Keep you posted.

    Hi,

    Just consider

instead. First i used Vera(Very unstable), then used Fibaro HC3L(currently only 1 last thermostat linked to Home Assistant and soon getting rid of Fibaro), now using Home Assistant Green. in HA most stuff works out of box, it's fast, very stable and gets almost weekly updates.

So I disabled all scenes and it took only a couple of hours to get the HC3 to crash, reboot and get stuck.  :-(

I'll try the factory reset tomorrow.

    So,
nothing worked... a lot of time invested and lost.
I have bought a brand new HC3 from Amazon which works perfectly (at least it didn't crash in the last 3 hours and doesn't get stuck when rebooting)
    End of the story.

Sorry to hear you bought a dud 2nd hand unit. Maybe the memory has gone bad. Hopefully you can get your money back. Thanks for reporting the outcome here!

Yeah I can still return it and get refunded except for shipping costs: it was an ebay pro seller.

Now that I have a working HC3, any cool feature / setup / tweak to recommend ?
I just created a few useful scenes I already had back from VeraEdge using pledge; It is a lot easier and responding WAY faster with the HC3
