I have a Fibaro system controlling lights in a new build, one particular light switches on and off during the day for no reason that I can identify.  It is set to come on at sundown and off at sunrise with several other lights, which it does fine, however during the day it can switch on and off by itself.  Looking for an event log or something that may indicate what is setting it off.  I have it setup with Alexa but there is no mention of it in it's event logs when it happens.

Okay I found the log and there are events generated by the system turning it on and off and adjusting brightness all from no external input.  Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

Hi Brett,

Experiencing the same, I have 2 Fibaro systems, and rarely it happens on both, always with the same lights, which is also strange.

In fact, in Eventrunner, I even made a rule to detect it, and switch them off again. (crazy huh)

Not a lot of help, just to confirm you are not alone.

What type of device is it happening with? 🤔

Apparently a homekit device, so nothing to do with a HC3

It is a dual switch with dimming, only one of the switches is connected as far as I can tell and this is what is causing the issue.  Log shows it switch on and off for what appears to be fixed intervals, ie on for 5 minutes off for 5 minutes and on again for 5 minutes and so on.  Log shows it occurring at random times on random days for varied cycles.

have just found another report which says overheating detected.  I was wondering if that had something to do with the cycles, however doesn't explain why it turns on by itself.  Also it is set to run from sundown to sunup and has not had any issues doing that.

You dont have the device type and name? Dual switch with dimming dosent say mutch 🤔

Is it a Fibaro dimmer 2 with both inputs connected (s1 and s2) ? :)
Since you mention overheat detection how large is the load? etc :)

So it is a bit hard for us to help you trubleshot :D
