Cannot put a climate zone in Vacation mode using the web interface

Recommended Posts

With version 5.172, but I think it was already the case with previous version, I cannot use the PC web to change any climate zone into vacation mode*:

- Changing to Manual mode (Heat, Cool Auto) all OK

- Changing to Schedule mode (Heat, Cool Auto) all OK

- If the climate zone is in Manual mode, trying to change it to Vacation mode is in fact reverting the climate zone to Schedule

When using any of the mobile application, Vaction mode is accepted and shown in the pc view.

* note: it seems that using "api.put("/panels/climate/"..zoneId,newClimTable)" in a QA for changing a climate zone to vacation does not work as well but changing to manual mode yes.

I also tried to use the Swager and the api.put is accepted with the vacation mode: code 200 but in response details the mode is still "Schedule"

No; the only QA which may change climate zone is the one I am working on and update of HC3 with new mode is only made manually (pressing a button after validation of my changes)

What is strange is that Vacation mode is in fact changing the mode to Schedule; below what I can see when in Manual mode and then Vacation mode:

But the Vacation mode is accepted when I am using the mobile application and then the Vacation mode is correctly diplayed in the web view:

    Aha, that is wierd 🤔
I get the vataction view from setting it in web view and mobile 🤔

Have you tried to make a new zone and see if that act the same? 🤔

Oups, the web view after saving was showing Schedule but 2 of the climate zone moved to Vacation raw!

Need to make more testing and let you know

In fact only 3 out of 16 are accepting the change to vacation including the new one.

I do not understand what can be the difference between these zones as they have been created 6 years ago. (note that they all accept the Manual mode)

I’m not sure if this is the issue but this is what I found using the Yubii App.  Go into temperature Zones to bring up the Schedule …. Tap on hand symbol to bring up the pop up.  …. Set to Vacation mode …. AND ThEN SET DURATION to infinity or far right hand side where HOLD with come on screen … Then SAVE the setting.   The thermostat will then stay in Vacation mode .  Hope this helps.

Today , willing to try your proposal, I discovered that all climate zones that I was willing unsuccessfuly yesterday to put in Vacation mode via the PC Web pages were in fact now all in Vacation mode . So the issue seems to be the time needed for some of them to have the popup view to be updated as well as for the Temperature web page.

I know that my HC3 is sometime slow to react but half a day...

In fact I still have the problem with Climate zone update with the following  methods:

    Using the web wiew: I can move a climate zone from Schedule to Manual and reverse but I cannot get any zone into Vacation mode;

Iif I have a zone already in Vacation mode (done using the mobile application) then it is OK to move it in Manual mode or return it to Schedule mode

But If I try to change the number of days of Vacation and save, the zone is returning in Schedule mode.

@m.roszak have you some idea why I cannot change a Climate Zone to vacation using the PC view? Is it specific to my HC3?

Note: I am now able in a QA to change any zone to all of modes using api.put("/panels/climate/"..<zoneId>,<newData>)  -- I had to learn which properties by mode needed to be put back to zero for this to work.

Guys, does anyonw know how to set up a vacation mode?? i mean i know how to turn to Vacation mode, but what should happen in Vacation mode is not clear to me..
If its related to Vacation profile, then again, this Vacation mode is useless, because we can not adjust nothing regarding heating/cooling in vacation profile..so how to set, what should happen in Vacation mode with theremostats??
Other thing, setting to Vacation mode has effect on zones but it not transferred to zone's thermoestats.
I put Rob zone to Vacation (in Vacation profile i have set Manual Off for this zone), before i put zone to vacation, all the radiators were in schedule mode, all set to 16.5

So after i switched the zone to vacation, it shows for the zone that its in vacation mode.
The zone shows vacations, but all thermostats are kept in Heat mode still, with the same 16.5

and here is my Vacation profile for Rob zone

    This is strange§

I have  a climate Test zone which includes a QA thermostat and a QA temperature sensor so I can play without impacting the house parameters.

When I am changing the test zone by selecting the Vacation mode and then moving day slider to max (said infinite) and save and close the UI then the QA Termostat is updated with the new temperature but infinite is only 30 days for Fibaro...

If you use the api.put("/Climate.....) then same behavior but the duration is effectively closer to infinite as time is around one year.

but what it the "new temperature" ?? where do you set it?? Is it coming from the vacation profile?
For me neither worked..If i set profile to Vacation, (and inside the Vaction profile i had the zone set to manual OFF as you can see on the picture),  nothing happened to my thermostat..It stayed where it was (on 16.5)
The second way i tried, i put the zone itself to vacation (on the schedule screen), same,  nothing changed..It shows me that the schedule is in Vacation mode, but the thermoestats stays ad they were

OK it seems that there is a strange way of displaying the Thermotat status in Off mode made using Climate zone (Settings view or M1) with the climate summary (Climate from the Dashboard or M2):

If I Change the status of the Climate Zone(M1) to off and go back to the display of my Thermostat in Climate (M2) then it is still in Previous mode; if I open it, there is no information in the view that the thermostat is in Off mode and still showing the temperarture of the Schedule for the programmed Day/Hour BUT when I close this view, then the Termostat is well in Off mode!. Open it again give the same old Schedule view, closing it again shows back that the thermostat is still in Off mode.🥶

If I use the M1 to go out of the Off mode, the thermostat is going back to its previous mode (Manual, Vacation or Schedule with its correct setPoint temperature).

Note that a problem with the Climate Zone (M1) is that is is not refreshed on line, you need to recycle the web page each time 😠.

I am now using a QA to make this type of changes (Vacation, Manual or Off) and using the Climate Zones only for changing Scedule timings and setPoints even if I can also do this with the QA as less user friendly than aPC view but better in Yubîî.

I think that when Fibaro will have time they must review completly the way the 2 climate menus interact.

Also, you cannot have a thermostat in Off mode when you select Vacation node with the M2 menu: I tried to move my test Thermostat from shedule in Off mode to Vacation mode and it is going into Vacation but with the T° setpoint selected in the view before saving😢. Seems to be logical fo Fibaro...

I will try to see if I can do Off and Vacation using my QA and let you know the result.

I have made some tests with my QA to force to Off mode my Test zone when its mode is in Vacation: no way, api response is 400, possible only when Schedule mode is selected.

I think the only way to have Off mode for a given priod similar to Vacation mode, is to create a specific QA which will change Schedule mode to Off and start a counter for the needed period and at the end it will return Schedule mode to Heating, Cooling or Auto mode.

Just for you information, Fibaro just released a new version in which one of the bug fixes is:

    - Fixed errors that occurred when setting the Off mode in the Climate Panel schedule.
