Question

Posted

Hi all,

Hope not a silly question, just wondering if it's possible to install the bypass at the switch/module location, as opposed to at the light fitting?

I read online that this may be possible, although it's recommend to install it at the light itself, not sure why that would make a difference.

Appreciate any help!

It should not make much difference, I did mount the bypass near module and not by the light, still worked ok :)

@NickBusselmann, I have an experience that location mattered and I had to install it near the light, but it was many years ago. If you have realtively new light it should not matter.

General rule I recommend:

  • 3-wire installation: Bypass position should not matter. Mounting to the light is recommended.
  • 2-wire installation: Mount Bypass to the Light itself.

Thanks for your help guys, I did try it at the module/switch location (3 wire conneciton) and it worked.
