Few first impressions on app new version

Hello @m.roszak and all,

 

First impression on the look & feel is positive for both light and dark mode. QA now looks much better with normal space between labels and buttons. Also, new line "\n" in label text is now working even when QA is set to new look. 👍 for the team working on mobile app!  

 

Problems that I noticed on the first glance and most of them are inherited from previous version:

 

1. Sometimes still happen that when I open first QA of generic type and then close it and open next one of generic type, then next QA still show previous QA labels and buttons and I have to close it and open again to show its own labels and buttons. This happens occasionally, bust still can confuse users.
2. There is still problem with local/remote connection and I still very often get initial screen asking me to select system (does not work) or even that no system is found and offering me to add new system. Of course, after that favorite devices are lost.
3. Log field is still not working as expected on QA's of generic type.
4. Overall speed of the mobile app on iPhone 16 with latest iOS is not great but it is acceptable. Didn't notice any improvement from the previous version.

 

I really hope that problem no.2 will be sorted out in next version of app since this is big annoyance. Favorite devices should not be deleted after failed connection. Also, how is possible that app is unable to find my HC3 on local network? What can cause this behavior? It seems that in my case this happens almost every time when my iPhone is roamed from one AP to another AP.

About point 2, i got good news - it will be fully solved and even as a feature in 2.5.1 coming shortly (loosing favorites). We are still having issue reproducing the connection problem so we are looking into it still, its possible that if this is related with the authorization directly 5.182 beta of the hub will solve this.

As for the favorites, possibility to restore existing configuration from other phones/devices on demand (so even when new phone was bought or big update changed the UUID of the phone itself) you will be able to restore your configuration.

as I pointed out, it is possible that this problem with local connection is caused by my Ubiquiti UniFi network configuration with multiple access points and UDR 7 that still has some baby problems. Will do some more testing and let you know if I find anything interesting.

This one is still very strange. We develop QuickApps and try to use all (few) ways to show the data like value, unit and log text and in the mobile (iOS) app they don't show the log text in the childs 😩😥🤔😡

My info on the latest beta is that loading icons on my PC has sped up, the system's response to turning on and off has sped up, I notice this especially with the lights, so hopefully it will last and the system won't slow down again.

Hi @petro_cz, are you talking about mobile app or web GUI on PC? This thread is about mobile app Yubii Home.

I apologize, only the PC web interface works quickly; the mobile app is slow. I have many devices, and when I want to turn something on or off, loading the app is annoying. Sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds. Which is terrible, and it doesn't matter whether I'm using mobile data or Wi-Fi! When I use an alternative app with fixed buttons, it works right away! And that's where I see the fundamental problem: the original app is difficult to use when the signal is poor and it hasn't loaded. The delay is probably due to the fact that everything is always loaded online.

About Point 2, Not sure if its exactly the same but we are facing this issue continuously and was able to reproduce it.. more or less! We have two iphones for the team that they use for testing. iPhone 12 with IOS 16.1 running with no issues. iPhone 16 with IOS 18.5 with multiple issues as follows:
 

1. Sometimes upon opening the app while connected locally, it takes a while to load (30-60 seconds) then goes on successfully to the main favorites page.
2. At other times it tries to load then shows the initial screen opting to choose for new or existing system. If existing system is selected then log in info has to be entered again
3. Often when after the initial screen issue, favourite devices are lost and a fresh screen is loaded
4. When connected remotely using 5G/4G, specifically point 1 issue does not occur at all. I have researched the issue and saw the IOS 18 is causing Wifi problems in general but not sure if this is the root cause.

I have iPhone 16 with iOS 18.6.2 with same Yubi Home app connection problems on local network.

The old Fibaro Home Center app that I still use with my HC2 and was not updated for very long time still works without any problems while Yubi Home app still have problems with local connection. The most annoying part is that favorite devices are persistently deleted 🤬
