Is it possible to use subscriber to find out if the thermostat needs heating?

I'm trying to figure it out.

I turned on one of my thermostat from summer sleep and waiting patiently if the 'heat required' bit turn on. Until now - bit is off, when the head is set to maximum heating. No surprise, the inertia and "sulks" of this device is incredible... 
 

I think that yes, it will generate an event, based on observation how many event it generates, even for icon change:
