HC2 stuck on BIOS screen, no keyboard response, blank LED

Question

Posted

Hi everyone,

I have a Fibaro Home Center 2 that won’t boot properly. When I power it on, it only shows the “Intel Desktop Board Inside” logo with options like <F2> BIOS setup, <F7> BIOS flash update, and <F10> Boot menu.

However, the keyboard doesn’t work at all (USB keyboard, tested on both rear and front ports), so I can’t enter BIOS or do anything. The front LED is blank (no light or activity).

I’ve already tried:

  • Using different keyboards and USB ports

  • Disconnecting all cables except HDMI and power

  • Removing LAN, USB devices, etc.

It still freezes on the Intel splash screen.

Could this be caused by a failed internal SSD (mSATA) or CMOS corruption?
Any advice on how to recover or reflash the HC2 firmware would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

— Iwan

First, If HC2 still has recovery disk, turn HC2 off, remove it and turn it back on. Second, Change CMOS battery.

If this does not help, Either paid service by Fibaro or throw it out. If you have backup in cloud, you can migrate to HC3.
