HC3 - Universal way to read device values? [LUA]

Question

Posted (edited)

Hey all,

Is there a universal way to read device values?

I can use the LUA call 'getdevicevalue' or api commands but in both ways i need to know where to find the specific values; different brands, types and even firmware versions within a brand use different ways.

After configuring a device the HC3 has a translation file, so it knows what ID's and indexes to use, example: thermostat setpoint = baseID + 3 - value index = 'heatingThermostatSetpoint'

The value indexes and ID's depends on the device firmware but a specific device (ie: thermostat) always returns:  [ * = optional ]

  • set temp
  • measured temp
  • state
  • mode
  • cooling *
  • energy saving *
  • battery *
  • power *
  • energy *

I can use swagger info and create a scene or quickapp that uses API to search in ID's with the same base ID for setpoint but maybe this already exists?

Can i use a universal command (that uses the HC3 device config file) so that i simply read setpoint value?
