Is zigbee response always slow?

Question

Posted

Wanting to trial a few zigbee devices on the HC3 given the variety and pricing - I purchased two outlet switches. These power some LED lights for some displays.

I then mapped the second switch from a Fibaro dimmer to turn them on and off and while it works - there is a 6-8 second delay between when I press the button and when they turn on. Is this "normal" for the HC3 or is there something else i need to look at?

Cheers.

I use Philips HUE bulbs, indoor and outdoor motion sensors without a zigbee gateway, and I haven't noticed any delay in their operation.

I have Zigbee bulbs (Hue and Tradfri), motion sensors, contact sensors, plug outlets and I don't have any delay

Are your Z-wave devices working fine? No disconnections, retries or delays.

@Anth Did you mapped dimmer state or you are using scene activation feature?
Dimmer will report it state after transition, during local control its 5s by default if I remember correctly - this will mean that the scene will have 5s delay in worst case + time of sending the command to Zigbee device.

    Brilliant - thanks Roszac,

I have the second switch of a Fibaro dimmer triggering it and of course it was set up as a dimmer itself. I changed the parameters and works straight away now. Really appreciate the help!
