Shelly wave I4 DC configuration with HC3

Question

Posted

I recently purchased some Shelly wave I4 DC modules which are a pretty reasonable price for a z-wave device.

Anyway like I've heard here a few times - Shelly devices don't seem to be configured when being added to the network.

Turns out that the unit still works even though it indicates "not configured"

Then was the next issue - I needed the inputs to be momentary  (i.e. only on when signal is grounded). Unfortunately the standard was a toggle mode.

I contacted Shelly and they were really quick to respond:

You are not doing anything wrong. When the Fibaro HC3 is using Z-Wave Engine 2, it does not read the configuration stored in our device. This is because it requires its own configuration files to set parameters and other Z-Wave settings. The device will still work normally, and all parameters can be set manually.

Please follow these steps:
  1. Go to Devices and select the desired device.
  2. Open the Parameters tab.
  3. Click Add Parameter.
  4. Enter the parameter number.
  5. Enter the parameter size and value.
  6. Click Save.

Parameters can be found in a drop down box at the link below:

To get the inputs working I just added parameters 1-4 and made them all "1"

I would say you probably need to adjust some parameters with other modules if you have any issue.

Thanks,

Anth
