Problem Figaro Dimmer 2 i.c.w. Osram Halotronic transformer

Hello reader, I’m new on this platform.

In my kitchen, I'm currently using the KlikAanKlikUit AWMD-250 dimmer.

It dims two separate light rails simultaneously. Each light rail is powered by a separate dimmable OSRAM transformer (HALOTRONIC 150/230-240).

Three PHILIPS dimmable LED spotlights ranging 7.5-43 watts are connected to each light rail.

The AWMD-250 dimmer works reasonably well with the OSRAM, but it doesn't always dim as I want.

For some time now, I've had the HOMEY PRO, which works perfectly with various Fibaro switches. However, in the kitchen, I replaced the AWMD-250 dimmer with a FIBARO DIMMER 2. I don't find the connection complicated (similar to the AWMD-250), but I can't get the dimmer to work.

I connected Dimmer 2 corresponding Wiring diagram no.1: 2-wire connection/single switch.

Does anyone know:

a. How can I get Dimmer 2 to work with the OSRAM transformers?

b. Can I connect both OSRAM transformers in parallel to a single Fibaro Dimmer 2, or do I have to control each OSRAM separately with a single Dimmer 2?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and input!

I would use the 3 wire connection. Also install a Fibaro Bypass.

Have you tried playing with the parameters that control leading and trailing edge dimming?

You should be able to use a single Fibaro device to control both transformers, but you should try 1 first and then add the second once the first is working.

Tnx Tim, Ok I can do that (use 3-wire connection) and I'll buy a Bypass

No, I didn't try playing with the parameters. Never done that before so I will look it up how to do that

I'll first try to get one working. Nice to know it should be possible!

    Hi @Antwan,

Note that after installation it is recommended to do calibration of the dimmer 2 to recognize load and setup parameters as best as it can.

How to do calibration you can find here:

I do not recommend changing most of the parameters after calibration is done except parameters 1 and 2 for minimum and maximum brightness set by calibration.

It is also explained when bypass is needed, so I recommend first read manual and then check your installation if it is needed depending on load current.

I solved the problem very easily. I think using the 3-wire connection was the breakthrough.

    Fibaro bypass is unnecessary.

I didn't have to change parameters.

    Thank you very much guys!
