Question

Posted

From what I’m reading here, it seems that the plugin for the old Philips Bridge does not work with the new Bridge Pro. And as far as I know, there currently isn’t an integration at the level of individual devices (I believe only room-level control works). Am I right?

I would like to write an integration for the new Bridge Pro - I think I know how to do it. However, it would require buying the Bridge and investing a significant amount of work. I don’t see much point in doing this just for myself (I have the old bridge and it’s sufficient for me).

So the question is - is anyone interested in this?

Hi @Łukasz997,

I do have HUE bridge Pro that is already working with my HC2 and my UHAS for HC2.

Here is the rest of my story:

I get HUE Pro to replace my two HUE bridges v2, so that all my lighting is controlled from one bridge. HUE Pro comes only with API v2 while HUE v2 bridge still have both API versions and that is why Fibaro HUE plugin that still uses API v1 does not work anymore with HUE Pro.

My UHAS for HC2 HUE2 integration already uses API v2. That is why it was easy for me to replace HUE bridges v2 with HUE Pro bridge. Done few settings changes and removed one HUE Preview VD and scene that was not needed anymore. It took me less time to adapt UHAS for HC2 to work with HUE Pro that transferring two old bridges to new one :-)

Thank you for answer. One more doubt... I didn't read all the thread about YahueV2, but I saw there information, that it can manage only a group (room, zone), not a single lamp (or other dev). Is it true?

    yes and no.

In scene you add your lights

If you use scene you can switch on / off

    - a single light

    - all lights

    # is a post to trigger this. rule

schakelaar eethoek is  the HUE switch

note: Hue switch enabled over rules everything

Aha - a little bit complicated. My goal is to do single device control without "middleman" (a scene) - just hub.call directly to device.
Maybe I give it a chance.
    Thank you.

I was thinking the same - that it’s a scene from the Bridge, not HC3. Either way, it still acts as a kind of proxy. I don’t see a reason to use it - unless it goes directly from the Bridge API architecture.
