Question

Hi!

I am thinking about getting an AC - one unit in the living room and the second unit in the hallway for the bed rooms.

- Is there any brand you can recommend? I am looking for a reliability and quiet operation, a good looking design is also important.

- Is it possible to integrate any brand to the Yubii Home?
- If yes, what are some useful automations, so it is working as much set-it-and-forget-it as possible?

For example:

- if window is open for more than 2 minutes, stop cooling

- different cooling temperature for different ambient temperature (the hotter it is, higher the cooling temperature)

Have a good one.

Hi @mneek, I use the Remotec ZXT-120, link below, which acts as an IR extender. It adds to the HC3 easily, then it's just a matter of finding your manufacturer on the list and working through their codes. There is a large number of codes and manufacturers covered. I assume the newer ZXT-600 or ZXT-800 work just as well, i have not tried them. I have several scenes set up for my A/c Now

  • Turn on based on ambient temp
  • Turn off based on time
  •  Turn on based on time
  • Turn off when window / door sensor triggered
  • Turn off based on Geofence.

I have been using it now for several years with no issues, so I have not upgraded. It can be battery powered or USB powered. I power mine via USB, as the power source selected impacts polling intervals

as @MAC71 mentioned you can use Z-Wave IR controler from Remotec (yes, ZXT-800 is working), but as well AC addon modules from Aidoo

There is hardware compatibility when you scroll down, simply search for the AC you think to buy, and it will give you the necessary product ID if compatible with Aidoo.

Hi

I also use the ZXT-800 and it works flawlessly with my Argo Milo Plus. The Database is very helpful.

Intesis make manufacturer specific modules that you plug into your indoor AC units. This allows you to control them via IP over your wifi. A Quick App gives you the functionality for Yubii (from Fibaro marketplace). Note, there are a couple of Intesis models, buy the right one.

I use Intesis with HC2. One thing I do: at 6am, check if kitchen temperature is below 18C, then turn on AC (heating).

I use Daikin and QA air conditioners for full control via API
