no this version is not working like ipad version. In heat pannel of ipad you can change temp of a room for determinated time. In android version u can only see the current temp of the room without change it. So please update it and translate it quick. Rember dear fibaro staf, android is the first os system in the world with 56% penetration. So thequestion is ARE U STUPID?

Second that. No idea why iPhone is supported in priority of Android. The iPhone user base has had it's day. Apple can't compete against all of the Android manufacturers combined. It's doing an amazing effort just holding it's market share in UK although at the same time Android has killed it.

This argument has some merit but there are specific (although minor) adjustments to each android device that need to be taken into account when developing an app, particularly those that have huge amounts of variables and processing requirements like the Fibaro app.

If you factor in iPod touch and iPad with iPhone as one group (as iOS is uniform across these) and compare the market share with Samsung separately and HTC separately etc etc iOS is a much more accessible launching platform.

The Android operating system, while still a uniform operating system, does not mean that any device running that operating system can run a single application developed for all devices running that OS. This is why there are strict verification processes involved in publishing an app on the Appstore vs the Google play store which does not require this process.

So your 56% penetration figure is irrelevant as one application will not work across all devices in that 56%... Also worth mentioning that some control applications for Automation systems cost either to purchase OR license which is not the case with Fibaro..

Only stupid people need to ask people if they are stupid

Good point, well presented, however there are economies in writing for Android. It's not like you're starting from scratch each time.

Yes, but if you are debugging through a beta testing format, the variables for bug fixes then need to be tested across multiple platforms and the fix for one device can impact another than didn't have the initial bug... So you are right, you aren't starting from scratch for the entire application, but as far as testing goes, one feature bug can require testing for that feature to start from scratch across every device.

I've been through this before and it is a frustrating process even for the simplest of applications. As every user is potentially using the application to control different devices, using different parameters, even though the command classes are uniform, the way the application reacts or responds to feedback from controlled devices is an important feature of the application which makes it a little more complicated.

If anyone has sniffed the network traffic between the HC2 and their iPhone, they will know how hard this application works to execute commands but most importantly, to report and monitor status

I am also a little bit dissapointed for the Android app. But I do use it with the Polish language.

Please, send me the XML file for the language and I will return you 3 of them.

English, Dutch and Greek.

I do have experience with translation on Android apps + building apps (simple ones not something like that) But it would be nice if you have some help on translation.

What I don't understand is that there has to be new translation. Is the android app so much different from the iOS one? Otherwise you can use the translation from the iOS version right??? Correct me if a am wrong. But does not sound like an excuse for me!

I do not know about Iphone, but Android is using the i18n (from java) and using xml files with language code you can have multiple languages.

I believe if we do assist fibaro for this app it would be nice. I am used on the Fibaro app with polish right now! cause i use only the images

Okay, 1.0.10 beta english/russian attached.

And language xml's too.

If you want to make other translations, please, use APKmanager from Internet and translate instructions.

Tested on ICS.

20 minutes spent. No warranty, of course. You can use it on your own risk!
