Having hacked ssh access into the box now, there aren't any standing issues for me anymore

If that's the only way you get it running then this thread has a point.! Normal use of a product doesn't have to be hacked.

Normal use of a product would be out of the box running as prommised. I would love to see you get root acces to a Samsung Smart TV or any kind of other device that has closed software.

But lets get back to what this thread was founded on.

I just bought one. Oh dear, buggy as hell - not really usable.

Shame, the hardware is cool. The software is not.

You know the system is not as bad as some make out. Yes there are some bugs but it is improving fast and some of the issues are with the modules. A lot of the noise on here is about modules I have no issue with?? go figure...

Yes I have gone on the box but I have only changed one thing and that was for a known bug in the BETA that is now fixed.

There are definitely some things that would be nice for troubleshooting communication and a lot of promised features to come but if anyone is going to do that well it will be Fibaro.. look at the features on the new plug. Even though I am in the UK I will be using some of these in adaptors.

You are right, for normal and proper advanced use it shouldn't be needed to have root access. Hence my call in
