FGS221 Switch 2x1,5kW

Question

Hi!

Does anyone know what is the actual difference between FGS221 version 1.9 and 2.1?

I recently got two version 2.1 from one supplier and two version 1.9 from another supplier during the same week...

If there is any significant difference, it would be interesting to know.

Ulf

Will there be support for the 'old' versions to be upgraded?

Since I already have a lot of 1.7 and 1.9 devices.

cobaltjeh, no, in 2.1 is new hardware, so old version can't support that function

now we got version control so:

if your device got version => 2.1 support firmware update

A.Socha, Isn't it possible to see on the outside of the box which version it is. As it is now, we are buying a pig in a poke, as we say in Sweden. We really don't know what we are buying before we have already installed the device, and then it is too late to return it to the supplyer.

V2/1 on the door/window box label is that the version???

Is the 2.1 version of swiches marked the same way then?

I've found quite detailed explanation on polish part of forum,

Please login or register to see this link.

    . Rough translation:

Fibaro produced (till now) modules from v1.0 to v2.1. Modules differs by internal software and version of Z-Wave libraries. (Z-Wave requires that module support most current libs. at the time of release). In version 1.6 Fibaro introduced varistor protection.

At the moment most current version of modules is v2.1 (with exception of dimmer, v1.9), v2.1 modules supports remote update of internal software. Some of v1.9 dimmers got additional filters.

    In summary:

Modules are constantly updated in hardware and software part. Important hardware modifications where introduced in modules v1.6, and will be introduced in dimmers v2.2

Because of presence of varistor protection, recommended modules are v1.6 or newer, and of course it's good to have most current one modules.

    PS. Sorry for my english.

    GG, 2.1 support fimware update

    Hi

Will it be possible to updade firmware without using a Home Center 2 ?

    I'm asking because i have a lot of Fibaro devices (FGS-221, FGK-101, FGD-211, FGR-211) but i'm using a Vera Lite as controller.

Perhaps it's time that you all post a support ticket or phone up Fibaro.

The admins here have stated (sadly enough) on multiple ocasions that this is a users forum with a little bit of admin help, but for main support questions you'd have to call/mail Fibaro.

Yes but someone from Fibaro answered to questions several time in this thread.

It's for this reason we ask here.

And it would be better for the community if Fibaro could answer here because a lot of ppl can be interested by the answer.

If everybody send a mail to Fibaro support to ask the same question it's just a waste of time for Fibaro support team.
