It should be 12/24V or battery operated. Also some nice features as well, I have never heard such possibilities from smoke sensor before

Yep, you can't do that with the current RGBW module (at least with the current firmware). Those "digital" led strips are using individually addressable led (WS2812 for example). But it is pretty easy to interface an existing RGBW module with an arduino board to be able to control those kind of led strips.

I know, I am just teasing them ^^.

Is it me, or the video has one small mistake - in case of fire I wouldn't speed up ventilation before fire is completely out.

Otherwise very very neat product again - super!

I couldn't find it in the description, but is it also possible to trigger the acoustic alarm externallly? E.g. for using it as a siren in case of a burglary.

I think this can be a nice discussion. When speeding up the ventilation you remove toxic and flammable smoke gasses from your house, ensuring a (more) safe exit from your house for you and your family and a (more) safe entry into the house for firefighters. Furthermore, extension of the fire due to flashovers and backdrafts will be limited.

On the other hand, by ventilation also fresh air will be supplied providing a more rapid extension of to the hearth of the fire. But, in my opinion, this extension is more controlled/controllable.

I don't think fan is worst thing to do. Open windows is more dangerous. If you put ventilation, it have some rules to help to slow down fire.

The sensor will be available first week 2014, shipping to the resellers will start this week.

12/24 DC and battery powered.

When will the Smoke Sensor be available? And when will more specifications be released? I miss it on the homepage
