As somebody else above already asked, I would particularly like to know if the sensors can be triggered by the HC2 or be included in an association group with the other smoke sensors? So if one sensor detects smoke, can it set of the other sensors also? That in my opinion is the biggest flaw on the Everspring; even the sensors you can buy in the DIY-shop can do this.

In regard to smoke extraction by opening windows and turning on the ventilation, it's not an easy discussion. Before doing so, I would have an expert take a look at the situation. Before you know it, you're actually doing more bad than good. In large office buildings, they sometimes put the emergency staircases under overpressure to make sure they remain free of smoke to keep the escape route available as long as possible. But for that you'll need dedicated fans and much larger than what you would ever do at home. And the air handling system is sometimes put to 100% intake and 100% exhaust without any recirculation taking place, but the actual situation (at least in The Netherlands) is always looked at by an expert and the fire brigade, to decide if it's better to have the ahu's turned on or off in case of a fire.

    Hello,

    Let me explain few questions:

Does it work separatley if the hc2 is offline for some reason?

    dhanjel,

Yes. It can work as battery operated smoke detector. In fact it does not need to be added to any Z-Wave controller at all. It can just detect the smoke and beep.

Of course if you will add it to Z-Wave controller you will find whole spectrum of possibilities (alarm functionalities, blac box and so on). Also you can use it additionally with conventional alarm system (wired) or both wired and Z-Wave alarm systems. However as I said the main function which is detecting the smoke and beep is completely independent.

    hvb83, and gilbert,

As somebody else above already asked, I would particularly like to know if the sensors can be triggered by the HC2 or be included in an association group with the other smoke sensors? This device is designed as sensor. It can only detect the triggers. For such functionality it would need to listen Z-Wave network all the time. It is not possibile in battery operated devices, so I am afraid it will work only as separate sensor not the group of the alarm sirens. However for such functionality please use any conventional alarm siren. You can connect it wirelessly to our sensor or by wires.

Thanks for your reply Krystian. Was hoping it could, since it could be attached to an adapter. I already have sirens, but was hoping to be able to ditch them now.

My last question then now that the smoke sensor is out; is it worth buying multisensors right now, or are you guys working hard on releasing those within the next 6 months?

hvb83, what kind of multisensor do you have in mind? What would you like to measure in one device?

There are persistant rumours of Fibaro working on a device that would include movement detection, light intensity and temperature. All else, like humidity, for me is a nice to have.

Even renders that supposedly have been made by Fibaro float around the internet.

Are you nearing the final design stage for something like that and should I hold on to my money before buying from another company?

I knew you wouldn't be able to give a straight answer Krystian, but thanks for your reply. I'm afraid I won't be able to make it to Vegas, but I'll be eagerly awaiting the news from the fair.
