I'm at my wits end with this - after months of research, I am no closer to a z-wave doorbell solution that is practical.

I have a Fibaro door sensor, linked to a bell push - so far so good.

When the bell is pushed it flashes the Philips Hue lights in my hallway - instantaneous and effective if you happen to be looking.

However, I need a sound to be made as well (the bell bit).

Everspring TSE03 doorbell set is useless (although the bell chime does work in Homeseer, it does not in HC2).

Please login or register to see this link.

Sonos text to speech is so slow as to be pointless and doesn't really grab your attention enough.

Ideally, I'd like to link the TSE03 to work in HC2 as it does in Homeseer - but no luck so far. There doesn't seem to be anything else available on the market taht would work.

Any ideas/thoughts?

Can you use a siren, and then make a scene that turns it off 1 second after it starts? And to dampen the "siren-sound" you can muffle it in several different ways.

What about using a normal door bell, combined with the Fibaro universal binary sensor? I understand that a normal doorbell runs on 8V and the sensor can do the same. Hook things up so that your normal doorbell always works, the Z-Wave sensor is extra free bonus.

You don't really say it, but you could read in your post... that the UBS would control the doorbell. But the UBS is a sensor, not a relay. The outputs always follow the inputs and the outputs cannot be controlled remotely. Just saying this for the people who don't own a UBS yet

You can use TSE03 Doorbell to give sound.

Just add bell unit (3 clicks) and then use lua.

example.

fibaro:call(204, "setValue", "255")

Where 204 is bell ID.

Works for me.

Thanks - that was exactly what I was looking for - will try when I get home!

Brilliant - this works a treat!

It's only taken me three years since I purchased the TSE03 to find a use for it!

Do I understand it correctly the doorbell unit works (if used as stated above) but the ever spring pushbutton is still a no go?

    Yes, pushbutton is useless.

for me, it's tricky to get bell included. Have to reset and try to include many times.

Just keep HC in learning mode and start clicking. Finally hc sees it.

I have a normal wireless doorbell (Friedland D911S) with a Fibaro Universal sensor connected between the bell push and the NO contacts of the doorbell. When the bell is pushed, you hear the doorbell, my Hue lights flashes, and I get a push message. Works perfect.

The best solution is to use a FGS221 for the bel.

I have build a compleet solution using

    FGS221 + friedland

With this solution i can even decide to switch to the silence mode when ever needed.

if you are interested let me know.

I use the FGK in combination with a Jacon Jensen doorbell 2. I had to solder 2 wires to the doorbell button, connected the wires to the FGK and configured the FGK as motion sensor and parameter 3 to INPUT_NO.

    Works perfect.

I made a crude mod to the Everspring Door bell after giving up trying to pair.

Open up the bell module and solder two fine wires to the contact inside and link to the wired bell push. This works ok only downside is the Tone changes at every press but at least it works and i get the push notification.
