These photos have been around for a while. No one really knows the details. Their will probably be a lite or new version somewhere this year. But I don't think it will be soon. they are working very hard on the new Motion sensor and the new OS 4.xx

It looks interesting. I am very curious about the price it will have.

With adequate price Fibaro can get many more users. I guess the price is the main factor why people selects Vera or Zipato.

It will be half price of Home Center 2 and released really soon as I know. Keep Your finger crossed

Thanks for info wasil. It sounds very promising. I hope also the light version won't have any functional limitations.

Of course it has software limitations, or it would not be lite.

If you take a look in Vera Lite and Vera 3 - it is mostly only hardware that differs (

). The functionality in software is the same in both versions of controllers. The only difference in software is a different design in GUI.

Some people also say that Vera Lite cannot run more than 50 devices. But that is just not recommended because the hardware is not fast enough. Nevertheless there are users who run more than 50 devices on Vera Lite and it works fine -

Thus I expect the same approach in Fibaro. Of course the hardware will be cheaper in Fibaro Lite version and thus perfomance will be slower. But the functions in software must be the same IMHO.

That is one possibility. Another is that it would be aimed for less nerdy people, to Average Joe. So, maybe less power inside, but also limited functionality like no lua-coding etc.

There is so many ways to limit things. There still has to be gap big enought to make full version tempting enough for geeks that really want to control and automate things.

Slowing commands makes the product poor, no one want's sluggish box that has to be waited on every command. It is not good for Fibaros "Polished" and sleek brand.

We'll see.

As far as I know it will be as fast as Home Center 2 but with some limitations if it goes to software.

Copied from vesternet:

The main differences between the Fibaro HCL and the HC2 are:

Plastic casing (HC2's has an Alloy Case)

No LUA

No LiLi

No VOIP

I guess everybody can live without lili and VOIP. Anyone who use VOIP by the way?

So basically it is just LUA that is different. So if person doesn't need virtual devices and complex scenes it is more than enough for basic installation with HC Lite. And it is the half of the price of HC2

I can see that interface differs as well. It is interesting to get a feedback on this GUI from someone who orded a lite version.

What I can see extra in a lite version:

1) Possibility to connect external module with GSM. That must be available in a full HC2 version IMHO! Good that you thought about it.

2) Possibilityto connect external battery. That was discussed before, f.ex. here:

Any HC2 must have internal battery with auto off logic when the battery is too low!

No gsm or battery solution for hc2 is there even connectivity for them? HC Premium or something will pop up?

Lite has two USB connectors - one on both sides. This weird connector has been removed.

it seems that hc lite is limited edition of hc2. If there is no LUA then it is no no with bigger and complicated projects. So Hc lite is good for simple installation and for starting your home automation.. I wonder if there is possibility to upgrade your house from hc lite to hc2 easily?
