Smart Energy Meter Readout

Question

Posted

Hi,

I am planning to have a smart energy meter installed, but I first want to find a solution to read out the P1 port.

I have found a z-wave internet gateway from

and I was wondering if you can use this gateway as a secondary controller for the HC2. You can connect the BeNext gateway directly to the P1 port of your energy meter to read out the data. Is there anyone who has any experience with this gateway?

Thanks

How about the device from Enelogic? Maybe they have an API to read the data?

I own that one, works perfect!

And the best thing is that they have an open API and encourage 3rd party developers to use their data:

Interesting! Have you used the enelogic api to get the data readout in hc2? If so can you share the code?

Again, your data is stored on a remote server, the Enelogic server. I would like a system that can store the data on my own server.

I'm using the FibaroLink I made in Domoticz; install Domoticz on a machine, buy a P1->USB cable. Setup the P1 logging in Domoticz, then push the data through the FibaroLink option to the HC. Unfortunately the data is currently not usable in scenes or in the energy management. Historical data will be saved locally in Domoticz, viewable per day/week/month/year.

Has anyone tried using this device (instead of having to use a RPI):

And if so, possible to make it work with HC2?

I have now setup a Raspberry PI with domoticz and connected a P1 USB meter cable to the PI. In domoticz i've setup the energy/gas meter stuff and through Fibarolink connected this back to the fibaro. With a virtual device it now shows Power and Gas usage, however, it would be cool if it now would be possible for Fibaro to actually recognise that as Consumption, power usage as it doesnt right now. Any idea how to further integrate this?

If anyone is interested, i can post the procedures to get it working.

    Jep, would be nice!

Oops, didn't read the whole topic... sorry...

Hierbij de complete handleiding. Ik heb mijn virtual device erbij gedaan voor als je dat gemakkelijker vindt.

Nice manual! even with credits and sources, nice! well done!

    +1

The solution is nice but better integration is really necessary in my opinion.

Now that the V4 version is live. Could it be possible to connect a cable like this one

en get the information from the P1 port of a smart meter ?

It is a temporary solution to use Domoticz or something else on a RPI to connect a P1 USB cable imo.

Plus a virtual device doesnt 'save' as graphcs for history data, nor does it be registered as a known power/gas meter within Fibaro HC2.

Does somebody has some experience with the project from the Arduino nano smart read out from the following website?

    1.

    and

    2.

I got it working where i can read the serial data to the serial monitor, but not yet displaying to the HC2 Virtual device.

I am using a DSMRR 4.0 Smartmeter with an open collector output which I feed with a 10K resistor, then I feed the open collector to the input from arduino nano (D07)

This is my code for the arduino nano:

Some help will be appreciated, thanks,

    Hello,

    Thank you for the template.

It will be forwarded to our Software Developers to review if it could be added to Fibaro system within the next software updates.
