Android app issue on Nexus 5 phone

Hi Forum,

We are using Google Nexus5 with latest Android 4.4(Kitkat) version, installed Fibaro Android app of version 1.3 on phone, we configured the phone with HC Lite.

When we tried to operate the HC Lite devices on local access the response of the app is very bad, we are facing a delay of 20sec to turn on/off the device through the app, again we tried to operate the same app by connecting to HC2, the response of the app on turning on/off devices is same.

What is the issue? Does anyone faced such as issue earlier.

But when we try to operate the HC2/HC Lite on internet the response of the app is instant.

We think Fibaro people has the solution for this issue.

I may have had success, after another email to support I got a response this morning! It was nothing useful, they just deflected and blamed my network configuration. So useless!

 

So I went into my phone settings and checked all was correct. It first opened using remote connection rather than local, so I went to settings > Choose HC > Edit 

 

The static IP for my HC2 was there and correct so I didn't change anything, I just clicked save and quit the app. when I opened the app again it went straight in using local access... no delay!?!? I tested this a few times and still no delay. So i switched to another AP on my network and still no delay....

 

So i got my wife's phone to attempt the same procedure but didn't have to, it went straight in without issue using local access???? again tried a few times and with an alternative AP and it still works.

 

Now bear in mind this has not worked for months the fact I didn't change anything on my wife's phone yet it suddenly start working I can only assume something changed at the HC2 when I clicked save on my app that has fixed it?!

 

Ahmed, see if you do the same if it helps??

I have done all this, Probelm is when you have wifi but no internet. My internet connection needs log in password every time to access internet. It auto loggs off, when i dont use internet.

When my router doesnt has internet, all commands take 15 sec delay even on local connection, refresh/delete add does not help. When internet works all works fine.

Mine is simpler than this, Internet is fine and constant, but weirdly the delay came back on both of our phones, and again regardless of whichever wireless connection I used (currently two active, different hardware). The app has a direct IP to talk to, so its not like discovery issues should be occurring. And using commands within tasker are instant.

 

Quite simply there is an issue with either the android app or the HC2 causing this delay.

I have the same problem!! I have an HCL, and all commads have 15-30s delay!! But with internet access it works instantly!

I test it with multi phones and two router! 

I dont know why Fibaro dont fix it in their app versions! Many users have android phones, and Fibaro have to attention to them! At least we expect any message about that from Fibaro!

The most recent update didn't appear to fix the issue for me. Same delays after updating both the app and HC2. However a week ago I had a power outage and the HC2 didn't come back on.... All lights stayed lit? So I powered off/on again and it started up OK.

 

Since then the app (on both our phones) has been practically instant?? 

 

Maybe if not tried, do a full power cycle?  (My only issue now is since then, the 'Your House' webpage is practically empty of devices....)

Yesterday i found that, if your router go off and be reset, your HC does not recognize internet connection, even if your internet connection be OK in your router! This problem will be solved, if you reset your HC too !

 

Enigma, I think your problem was this!

Hard to know without doing tests. The HC2 remote access was still working during the period (of months) of this slow performance. Its lasted through a few updates with no joy. We had a brief period of a day or two where it worked a few weeks ago (as posted previous) and slowed down again.

 

I guess now is currently working I'm not inclined to do tests since Fibaro's ignorance in this and other issues does not inspire me to waste my time to help.
