) Fibaro also mentions support for legacy alarm systems through RS232.

I was thinking of connecting my legacy Cadxx GE NX8 alarm system via dry contacts. But now I undestand I would need a NX584 to get the RS232 interface.

Does anybody have an idea on how Fibaro will integrate legacy alarm systems ?

I think unfortunately that you are working on the assumption that these videos relate to the actual functionality that fibaro offers, which they don't, these are marketing material and mostly false

The Vera supports connectivity via usb but fibaro does not so it can not connect via rs232 unless you have some other hardware

cerazy, alarm systems that are using RS-232 and have open API can be controlled with Global Cache module, with custom-made plugin - this will be available in next version.

Devices announced at CEDIA are still in works, we will keep you updated.

Thanks for the roadmap on the approach, very helpful. The benefit of an external module could be for feature compatibility with the HCL ... we'll know in a few months I guess.

If you can comment, should we expect Fibaro to make some plugins for some "well known" legacy systems or just provide the tools for us to develop.
