Fibaro Home Center 2 v 4.020 BETA.

Beta version is designed for user testing and soon will be released as official.

WARNING! After installing this upgrade backups from version 1.x and 3.x will be retained but hidden because they are incompatible with the version 4.x. In case of update from old version, v1.x, after that update all users will be deleted. Admin password will be reset. Also update to Beta software all devices will be automatically reconfigured to work with new system architecture. Reconfiguration progress will be shown in pop-up window.

This update can last longer than previous. If this update lasts longer than 30 minutes, please go to main HC2 address (e.g. 192.168.0.1).

If "System temporarily unavailable" text will appear during update, please wait - you will be redirected to the main page when all services start.

4.020:

New Features:

Pre-Update Confirmation - installing update on 4.020 or newer will prompt user additional confirmation.

Mesh Network Reconfiguration - available on Configuration -> Z-Wave Network

This version mainly concentrate on adding better support and integration for more devices (not only z-wave device).

Important part of software responsible for management z-wave devices was rebuild from the scratch for better support different devices types.

New Home Center software introduces support for plugins. Plugins give support for new devices and new functionalities without modifying HC Firmware. Plugins can be used for controlling devices via different protocols and standards like TCP/IP, IR*, RS 232*, UPNP. Plugins have their own user interface and can call all APIs available on HC2. Possibility of building plugins by independent developers will be introduced in next versions.

Drag & Drop for devices and scenes - available on home, devices and rooms screens. Assigning devices to rooms and changing its order is now much easier and faster.

Magic Scenes - new, simplified and easy to use graphical way to create scenes based on condition > action flow.

Diagnostic Panel - general information about HC working condition like CPU & RAM usage, free space on hard drive. Will be extended in future versions.

New Z-Wave engine - redesigned and rewritten from the scratch. Now is faster and has better support for devices.

Z-Wave Door Locks support - controlling and PIN settings.

Thermostats - extended controlling for thermostats from manufacturers like: Honeywell, Trane Corporation.

Extended tamper for sensors - exclusive information for motion detection and violation of sensors.

Fibaro Smoke Sensor extended support - level of smoke and gap to alarm level is reported and visible on charts at iPad and Web Page. Sensitivity level is now easier to set.

Fibro Motion Sensor new device - when seismometer mode is turned on new device reporting tremors is available. Charts for temperature and illuminance. Additionally information about sensor violation.

Device hiding - device that is not in use can be hide without removing it.

Device deactivation - deactivated device is visible in UI but can't be controlled.

Multithreading added for HC (server and z-wave) - now engines work much faster.

Event panel moved - for better usability now is available in menu on right side of screen.

User rights management - moved to Configuration.

Block Scenes improvements - for device only available actions are visible, scene activation block added and logical conditions grouping using brackets.

Lua Scenes - updated tooltips for devices.

Just to give all you folks a pep in your step and give you some hope that Fibaro are indeed working around the clock on the development, as has been stated by a Fibaro employee, apart from the opening announcement in this thread, there are 3 replies from Fibaro developers in 7 pages of this thread at this point.

Do you think they are working around the clock, if they are its not on development.

If you are working around the clock, you're bound to fall asleep at some point. Guess this happened to a lot of Fibaro employees, so it's time to wake them up!

Beta Running mostly well for me.

Managed to get horstman(Secure) thermostat and SETpoint running fine and now controlling the heating as expected via heating panel. The product image for the receiver is displayed in devices panel but not for the SETpoint, again this isn't an issue however the Setpoint/thermostat is displaying low battery when the device is brand new, installed only 3 days ago, cannot remember if issue was with 4.19?

One question i have when using the heating panel. If i would like so set a manual temperature during the program i see that there isn't much time before the thermostat is readjusted automatically, is there a way to extend the manual override time?

Again, beta for me is running mostly well, i have some old devices i cannot delete, i suspect they are from 3.x. Any suggestions here fibaro?

ipad and iPhone aps are very stable - PUSH not working, but emails are on 8.1.

Scenes working as expected with LUA

Camera working OK, but not remotely.

Fibaro alarm panel working OK.

I don't use apps much yet but could not get the Sony TV app to work correctly. (may be my network)

I have an issue with FGK101 V2.1 door sensors not updating there status too, anybody else? I suspect one is nearly out of range but the other is practically next to the HC2. They haven't been marked as dead either. Will delete and re-include next to see if it helps tomorrow.

Thank you for the positive report. I ran 4.020 for a few days and it certainly gets a "usable" label. But also definitely 'beta'.

From you remark, "nearly there", I conclude you don't use bugzilla. Have a look there, please, then judge again. But nevertheless, I like your optism!

I have reported issues in the past on bugzilla so you concluded wrongly. I will say that my install isn't a quarter of the size of yours therefore consequently gives me less bother.

I would much rather be a glass half full person, i believe the issues will be fixed in due course.

I wanted to say.. Just look at the amount of open/assigned reports! It will take another 6 months to iron them out...

How did you get Satel back to work? Mine is suddenly saying that there is no Fibaro partition configured since 4.019. And I have one configured. Functionality was running perfectly until 3.593. Thx

Hello Fibaro,

I see that the alarm settings for individual sensors is changed again. It loved how it was, could you tell me if there is a specific reason for this?

In a few versions it was possible to set a sensor to: "always disarmed" save that. and then set it to "exclude from alarm". In that way it would not show the "arm" and "disarm" on the sensor and also not be used by the alarm panel.

If you now try to do that it will reset the "always disarmaed" state whenever you exclude it from the alarm. Which in my opinion is strange, as it is then not used by the alarm but you can still arm and disarm it. Although I understand some users might find it handy, I think it should be possible to select both: "always armed or disarmed" and "excluded from the alarm".

Would you agree?

I agree, as a minimum, that the order in which you set these options should not matter. It is highly confusing that an option (breached) seems to matter, but disappears from sight when you select the other (excluded).
