If Fibaro gets a run for their money here, it's because they brought it upon themselves.

Good to see the marriage still holding up, despite the faulty home automation

But reverting back to the topic: Are there other alternatives?

I have just copied ALL of my devices from HC2 to z-stick (took me 1 minute) and they are visible and controllable by both Indigo and HC2

I'm still not 100% satified however. Have included Z-stick as secondary controller, have the tool to change it into SIS so it can become Primary unfortunately it looks that HC2 doesn't support SUC/SIS in v 3.591 to replicate the configuration instantly if there is any change - don't know how about v 4 !?

It means that in order to add new devices or reconfigure I need to it in HC2 and re-include Z-Stick.

Of course I can make z-stick as primary and add nodes but then they are not visible in HC2 - on the other hand at some point who cares

PS

I'm using zensys-tools that you can find on the internet.

Richo - can I ask how you added the devices to the stick?

Presume something along lines of add as secondary controller to HC2, devices copied across

And then use zen tools to change z-stick to primary and insert into indigo?

Soon (later today) to go down this path myself and interested in is it possible to copy current hc2 devices onto stick without excluding and then one-by-one including them on zstick.

Thanks

Glenn

Yes, have added as secondary. There are still some issues so don't want to send more details before I solve them.

The biggest issue is that even after I change in zensys Tools z-stick to SUC primary, I cant change it's node number to 1 as recommended by zensys for a Proper primary. Unfortunatelly HC doesn't have function to make new primary

Thanks

I hit a small stag and highlights the reason I'm attempting this change - myHC2 now gives me the lovely error "Not Primary Controller" Before I added/removed anything.

Likely been like this for a while as haven't added any devices for a while.

I had this error once before (4/14) and as per fibaro support - only can be fixed with SSH into box. Waiting on a reply back from support to fix.

May try to delete devices one-one and add to indigo depending on how long they take.

With respect, don't you think it's just a tad bit rude to run a thread advertising alternatives on Fibaro's own forum? I understand you have the #$@!s but seriously....

I don't think you'd do this kind of thing in person (i.e. go to someone's shop, stand inside the front door and hand out brochures for the store down the street) so why do it online?

If you want to go, so be it.. but don't stand here smearing * on the walls before your departure. I presume you'll also stop flying on Boeing 737's because one crashed in Africa earlier this year?

With respect, No i do not think its a bit rude in the slightest. What I do think is rude is Fibaro's attitute to its customers. Lying , conning, and then not even accepting their stable version is so flawed its unusable by anyone other than a novice user. I asked for a refund, which I am fully entitled to under EU law and they came up with every excuse they could so as not to take my system back, I didn't buy it from the right source, there is nothing wrong with it, even stating I had created a thread and they were aware of other users waiting to see the outcome. They ignored the support request until it was escalated 2 weeks later to the Sales Director. That is rude.

This company will not exist in 2 years, so this is a very valid thread

Sigh.....You see he allways resorts to gays and mums jokes. We all just laugh at him. Its quite funny to see a grown man carry on like he does.

David, can you please respond to the questions I posed to you and stop just putting smart comments in about Dean, unless you have something to contribute, you are just trolling.

Contributions are both positive and negative.

and it seems that not every fibaro device is following the zwave "standard"

Hi Fibaro can you give us an answer from the Hekkers blog? Why don't you follow the Zwave standards?

Posted

Worrying but not that surprising really. A very trusted source too, would like to see Fibaros response.

Posted

Fibaro's response? They haven't even listened to us who use HC2 and reported similar problems, so why should they care about other z-wave controllers?

Besides, if the motion sensor actually still shows up as a motion sensor rather than a temperature sensor, Robert should consider himself lucky.

that's only a problem with hc2 and 3.x firmware.

i am using the pir with hs3 and still works as a motion sensor
