Force update HCL to V4.x?

Fibaro,

 

At this moment it is not possible to update the HCL to the latest V4.x firmware. I understand that this is due the risk of problems that users might have after the update. But there are some users that might need to update to be able to use this with their HC2 V4.x as extension gateway.

 

As it does not matter for me if there are problems with the HCL and that I have to reset or re-add all the devices, it would be nice if there was a possibility to force update the HCL to V4.X. I can imagine that this can be done in a similar way as it was done before for the HC2s beta versions. With an update link with a  key that lets you update only that specific device and serial number.

 

Could you tell me if there is any way you can enable use to update (some) HCL devices by request?

We are investigating this case, but I assure you HCLs that come with v4 from factory have also recovery with that version.

Ok, thank you. That would be as expected indeed, I hope there will be a version for the excisting hcl devices awell.

No It's not! When you go to the recovery page on the left side it said 3.594! SO don't do a recovery, because Fibaro is not giving you the option to go back to v4!

 

So when you got to the reocovery page of your HCL, check if v4 also mentioned there.

 

What i did when i got the HCL with version 4 i checked if that is the latest version 4.x for the HCL bij pressing Force Update, dunno if that caused the issue???

@Samplex as I said your case is being still being worked on by support, but I assure you all new devices that are produced have new recovery already configured.

@j.nowacki, You can close the case, i sold the HCL because Fibaro don't release v4 for it anytime soon.
