HC2 randomly reporting 0.00C from ST814

Question

Posted

Hi

after upgrade to 4.056 (from 1.x) I have the HC2 randomly assuming a 0 degrees temperature from Everspring ST814 sensor - I mean that HC2 shows 0 degrees in the room, but if I go in front of the sensor, the temperature is correct (20.20 for example). HC2 only gets again the right value after 30 minutes or if I manually wake up the sensor (triple click)

You can see in last night log (attached) an example:

- 00.14 temp goes from 20.10 to 0.00, heating starts

- 00.44 temp goes back to 20.60, heating stops

I have 7 x ST814 and it happens with all of them, so I tried to do a "soft reconfig" of the sensors and a reboot of the HC2 but it still happens, randomly

Is this a bug I should file with bugzilla or is there something else I could try?

Thanks

Riccardo

I don't have that particular model... But it is possibly related to Aeon MultiSensor values getting stuck. I wouldn't file a bug yet, HC2 firmware 4.057 BETA is available. It's a beta, so please be prepared. But judging from the first reports, it's quite good.

Hi

For me, HC2 report randomly 99° from my ST814 so I receive alerts for high temperature. This occurs since I migrated to 4.056. With 3.6, I never have this behaviour

And I just check in the event panel and I have too same report as for Riccardo !!!!

Thanks

True, sometimes I also get 99 degrees alarm, but less frequently - and anyway I can ignore those, whereas the 00.00 triggers heating...

I have added screenshot and note in bugzilla:

Fibaro, do you confirm that it's the same issue and that you are working on this?

    Thanks

Hi, problem is still there, with 4.510... @T.Konopka will it ever be fixed? this was ok with 1.x firmware (I'm using HC2 since October 2012) and it's very annoying because every time one of my 8 sensors reports 0.00, the heating system is started automatically...

    Thanks

I have several Aeon Multisensors and have never seen 0 degrees but every now and then they say a random value in the area around 70-82 degrees and then the HC2 fire a potential fire alarm. Same in 4.510 as in several earlier versions.

    Hi,

I also note that I had a number of aeotec multi sensors report the high temp value (around 70-80 degrees) randomly, sending an alert potential fire. This was with the 4.510 firmware I believe. Also notice that sometimes the motion sensors get stuck on "breached". Does anyone have a solution for this.

I wonder if it has something to do with the strength of the z-wave network???? It seems to affect the sensors furthest from my house (they are installed externally), and when I test the sensors internally close to the HC2, it seems to be better.

Anyway, all this is moot at the moment, as my HC2 has developed a firmware issue (stopped working) and needs to be sent back to Poland by the sounds of things!

    Hi

with the help of @Dave Harrison I have created a LUA scene as a workaround - anybody interested can find it here

I haven't verified it yet (only ran it manually) but it should work!

    Hope it helps!
