Hi, the polls on the forum suck, and are the default 3 questions ! ** @FIBARO : Request : Can a mod change that to something more sensible please ? **

I've been through the dizzying intoxicating highs, and the filth covered slimy lows at the bottom of the barrel with my Fibaro HC2's .. I've had days of nothing but frustration, and days of overwhelming satisfaction and I still marvel at things when they work as well or better than I expected. Generally, now, after a few years I'm happy with the way things are travelling ( except perhaps the last beta which was as mentioned elsewhere ..  dejavu ! ) I've given up on fighting the system and go with the flow, work around what I want to work, and how I want it to work ( with ~ 50/50 success rate ) and thought this might be interesting.

 

The poll is a very brief ( due to the forum limitation ) overview of the thoughts I've had, I'd be interested in knowing what others think and feel. Feel free to add comments below.

I've tried to sum up negative and positive and keep it generally positive in a bid to have someone @FIBARO at least consider some of the feedback.

If the Poll doesn't work ( as I can't seem to get it to open again now, and I've already blown an hour of work time, I'll give it another crack tonight ! )

Q1. How satisfied are you with your Fibaro System Scale 1-5 ;

1. I'm not at all satisfied
2. Not totally dissatisfied
3. Meh, it's OK
4. I'm pretty satisfied
5. I love it, I'm completely satisfied

 

Q2. What would YOU like to see as a focus on in the near future ;

1. Stability
2. Security
3. A Closed or 'Opt in' only Beta program ( removes some of the negative sentiment, but also pressures a company into releases that work without excuse ! )
4. Plugins ( Seriously ! )
5. Diagnostics ( Logging, mapping, process lists, script loads etc )
6. Hardware Compatibility ( Support for my ZWave XXXXX ( Insert your not working item here and refer to # 9 & # 10 ))
7. Software Flexibility ( Phones and Tablet apps)
8. Upload-able device parameters so we can share between us without having to wait for an update
9. Some attention to the Bugzilla ( I've stopped posting as it seems a mute point )
10. A ( banging my own drum ) Wiki so we can collect and share working device lists, work arounds and code snippets.
11. More forum support, more active responses from Fibaro to users.
12. Better support ( phone or teamview / email ) for users.
13. GPS functionality / improvement ( lets face it without a tesla powerwall your kinda screwed running it at the mo )
14. Lilli, someone needs to give some love to Lilli and turn her into something actually usable and useful. Cortana, OK Siri and OK Google have proven it can be done very very well ! ( Tay .. not so much ..

15. More Beta's .. poke em out after each change and lets see how they go ..
16. Flexibility of App design ( layout and control, not just re arranging but floorplan layouts etc )
17. More Fibaro hardware like Swipe, speaker etc
18. An occasional overview of the direction Fibaro are embarking upon. ( Keep the secrets secret, but throw a dog a bone once in a while ! )
19. Better camera support.
20. Better secure device support.
21. Better Alarm and Security support.
22. Bring on the HC3 ?

I'm sure this list could continue forever, but there you go ..

1. I'm an end user, I just want it to work.
2. I can tinker and code most things with blocks.
3. I'm comfortable using LUA with a bit of direction and a nudge ..
4. I'm happy coding LUA from scratch
5. I am the MATRIX

So there you go, the system only let me do the 3 Q's and then i couldn't get the poll to show, so as above it would have been cool to keep some stats on the most important things, but alas I've run out of time today !C

5. I am the MATRIX. No room for false modesty here. I use lua all the time. I also use lua stand-alone. I program in Go on my PC and I use C for small MCU hobby projects. Downside? I don't know how graphic blocks work...

Great that you answer on our 'survey' but can you give us some timelines on features like this? I known that fibaro never share what they are doing, but for a lot of us the diagnostics is very important to troubleshoot ourselves (and should help also you guys to focus on the product)

Q2 1,1,1,1 ... 1 above everything else - stop with the enhancements already and get the system rock solid stable.. PLEASE! ... after that 5, then most of the rest TBH. They are all pretty good ideas.
