[SOLVED]Firmware update problem: FGMS001 Motion Sensor EU

Guest

Question

For some reason I can not update the firmware of my FGMS001 Motion Sensor EU.

It's using 2.7 at the moment and want to update to 2.8.

All looks fine, and I even get the message Success.

Status: Available
Current version: 2.7
Available version: 2.8

Status: Updating...
Current version: 2.7
Available version: 2.8

Status: Success
Current version: 2.7
Available version: 2.8

[23:23:53] ID 188: New image was successfully stored in temporary non-volatile memory. The device will now start storing the new image in primary non-volatile memory dedicated to executable code. Then the device will restart itself.

However. It keeps showing version 2.7!

Even after reboot.

Status: Available
Current version: 2.7
Available version: 2.8

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  • Yes. I did.
To start "wake up" I triple clicked and it started updating. 1/2 during update I needed (as described in the documentation) to triple click again to continue update.

Log file shows that update has been done, and that all is fine.

try "soft reconfigure" before update, that worked for me.

Will give it a go tomorrow and report back.

On a side note, did anybody tried to update a device without moving it within 2 meters of the HC2?  I tried but no luck

    I did and found success.

~3-4m with 2 concrete walls (1 concrete wall with BRC mesh inside, 1 brick wall) in between.

    Hard-wired? Hmmm...modified setup?

Tip: Disable scene(s) that use the FGMS001 first. In my 2 rounds of firmware updates (2 x 6 of them), scenes seem to interfere and fail update. Oh, wake up interval does too, if my recollection serves me well.

Is there a list of new features or bugfixes with the new software versions?  All of my light dimmers are in version 3.2 and version 3.4 is available, but before getting it out of the wall I really need to know what is fixed or which new features there are.

Otherwise I let them stay and work!
