Heating panel not working

Question

Posted

I try here because under General Discussions did not work.

I have a HCL 4.090 and the scheduler of the heating panel does not work at all.

Danfoss valves connected that work perfectly manually and with scenes.

How is it going with your HCL? (maybe HC2 works differently).

thanks

In this code, nothing will turn on/off the boiler.

Even if I set the Danfoss to 21 degrees, if the boiler is not turned off when the room is 21 degrees, it will continue to heat and go up to 23 or 24 degrees.

I will contact support for the heating panel should work.

maybe it's not clear for you how the Danfoss LC13 works.

It is a thermostat and it works on a radiator, not on a boiler.

Inside of the Danfoss there is a temperature sensor, an electric motor and batteries.

If the room temperature is above your desired setpoint then it automatically closes the radiator valve to cool it down.

If the room temperature is below your desired setpoint then it automatically open the radiator valve to heat it up.

The same job as your hand on the radiator valve turning it clockwise or anti.

You do not switch off or on boilers.

    I understand FLowy.

All my radiators have these valves. But if my boiler is off, no warm water will flow through. If all the valves are closed, my boiler will still be on making hot water unless a scene turns it off until warm water is needed again :)

So I need a scene to control the boiler and one to control the radiators. In addition, room temperature should be measured by my multisensors and not by the valves (they are to close to the heating source).

Time-based scenes are not working on my HC. I think this is also the reason heating panel doesn't work...

So i need something more complex:

A variable like "warm water needed" yes or no (if room temperature is above 21, it should turn off but leave the valves open)

a time based scene to open or close the valves

a scene to turn on/off the kettle/boiler based on weather warm water is needed or not (variable)

    now I understand your setup.

The above example is used in a house that does not have the boiler. Hot water is always present in the house from an outside system.

Room temperature sensors have not been installed because they should have been other 12 sensors to buy, so for cost reduction the Danfoss sensor will be used with a calculation about what it will be read close to the radiator comparing to the real temperature of the room. Data after some working time will fine tune the system.

About your boiler yes you should have another scene in parallel with room sensors (a lot of them and only one on must be the trigger for starting the boiler) and one z-wave switch that control the boiler on/off.

Anyhow you need to have those sensors and switch also if using the heating panel (even if I do not know how since it never worked in my case).

I agree with you that it must work as well as all other features present and specified in the product description.

I have read that with FW 4.100 you could have it working. I mean could because someone is reporting that it is stuck again after few working days.

I cannot install 4.100 because of firmware installation error. I need to restore the HCL to original setup and start from zero the installation of the new FW and see...

i tested it on a previous version and it worked, or seemed to be working. It was summer so I didn't test it for long as I was aso not living yet in that house :)

Now I live there and it is getting cold. Turning on and off the switch manually is not a solution. I emailed support so when I have a reply, I post it here.

    I will test 4.1

I want to know if im on the right track before i'm configuring everything and it's wrong.

I set 4 variables for the heating based on time for example:

    morning: 06:30

    afternoon: 09:00

    evening: 17:30

    night: 22:30

I want that the heating turns on to 24 degrees in the bedroom only if > it's morning (time 05:30 till 08:30) + if i'm at home (home status) + temp sensor is below 21 degrees

What do you think about it?

I updated to 4.1 and heating panel works. The temperature was 19,8 so kettle was turned on. Now it is 21.2 and kettle is off... Let's hope it stays working ;)
